Well, your height is based mostly on genetics. It depends on the height of your mom and dad and their parents. There are some things you can do, such as:
1) make sure you get enough sleep, since we grow while we're sleeping
2) eat a healthy diet
3) try doing some serious stretching exercises such as yoga
4) lay off the caffeine found in coffee, colas, and chocolate...it stunts your growth
Other than that, there's not much else to do. You still have another 3 years of growing..so good luck!

Talk to your doctor about dietary supplements, like calcium, protein, vitamin D etc. You need to realize that growth spurts in boys can occur into the early 20's in some cases. I do not believe that any respected doctor would agree to using Human Growth Hormone, which could help you, but is usually reserved for those with extreme cases of size deficiency. At 5'6 1/2" you are only 1.5 inches below the normal height for men. Eat and sleep healthy, take supplements if doctor recommended and Good luck!

Miami Lilly has some great answers also! :)
