If you can breathe, you are not choking. Sit down, relax, and it will pass. The calmer you become, the more your muscles relax. Don't shove anything else in your mouth....it will just take time to pass....

I realizes this is old but I need to say this in case someone with the same issue finds this. These people are all idiots, you will not pass it without going to the hospital or doing what I learned. You likely have what I have which is tightening of the Esophagus. Mine is caused by certain foods that I am allergic to which causes my Esophagus to inflame and tighten. This has happen to me about 9 times now. I have been to the hospital 4 of those times. If you are brave enough to try and push it down with water it may pass but this is terrifying I know because once the water hits the obstruction it stops and so does your air so you have to gag the water back up using your throat muscles. You can always go to the hospital and they will put you under, scope you, and push it through with the camera or pull it out with some claws, this may be dangerous as they may scrape your throat and there is always a risk when going under.
I recently discovered you can force air down your throat like when you try and burp after drinking a coke. It takes some practice so do it when you are not choking. This way can work on pushing the food down without gagging on water and killing yourself. You will cough up spit that will not go down but what you want to look for is parts of the food you swallowed. Sometimes it will come up in little pieces which means its breaking up but the bulk of it will go down and you will feel it immediately. Keep calm and relax, it will pass if you work on it. If it is something like a large piece of tough steak you may not be able to get it. I was able to push a piece of chicken down in the bathroom of restaurant. You better do some praying to while your at it, it helped me.

go to the doctor. i swallowed a quarter and still could breath. but we contacted a friend who is a doctor and they said try not to move it cause it could change the point at which it is lodged and could stop me from breathing. best thing is to go to the doctor and see what they say. worst thing that could happen is that they put a tube down your throat and pull it out. its not bad at all i did it when i was like 7

if you were choking, you would be coughing like crazy, it would be in your trachea and you wouldn't be able to type. It is likely lodged in your esophagus, try chewing better next time, but for now, simply relax, the esophagus is a muscular tube and it will eventually get the great wad down, drinking sips of water will help.

you may have to go to the hospital, they can remove the "stuck" food from your throat.
