Hey! Doing 8 min abs and beginning to run are a great start to begin slimming down your tummy. The cardio (running) will allow you to burn fat, and the ab video will get you started on the toning. The comment below that you cannot spot reduce fat is true, and diet is a vital component to any type of weight loss, however, doing cardio and toning are just as important! Since you are already doing a video, why not get some pilates videos, which the other answer is also correct--it works wonders by lengthing and toning your body all over, especially your core (abs, back, and torso).
Also, your time line is realistic as well to see some positive results. Just remember to stick to a routine that involves cardio exercise at a moderate to high intensity for 60 min 4-5 times a week, add in another video to the mix, in addition to the 8 min abs, drink lots of water, try to reduce pre-packaged, high sodium foods (i.e. chips, crackers, cookies), and add more fresh fruits and veggies to your diet. Also eat lots of whole grains (whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread and english muffins, brown rice, etc.) and lean proteins (fish, chicken, tofu).

The thing with abs is that everybody has them! If you have ever seen anyone with a 6 pack or 8 you notice that they have a very low body fat percentage! So you or the 250 pound lady down the street have abs its fat that covers it up. Now I wish I could tell you to do sit up and the fat would melt off your body, but working out a specific area of your body WILL NOT REMOVE THE FAT FROM THE AREA! YOU CANNOT SELECTIVELY REMOVE FAT FROM A SPECIFIC REGION! Only cardio and reduced diet will allow those washboard abs to glisten!

do planks ull feel the changes after a set.
1. lay down on ur stomach
2. push up like as if u were doing a push up
3. BUT keep the part of ur arm from ur hand to ur elbow on the floor.
4. keep ur back straight and hold for 10 secs.
5. always make sure ur feet are together and ur arms resting shoulder width apart.
do ten, take a break, than 10 more. hope this helps! take care

the only fat burning exercise is cardio (running, swimming, spinning, jogging, elliptical, rope jumping etc.) - do it 4-6 times a week for 30-50min - it will burn fat all over your body, we cant spot reduce body fat.
abdominal exercise alone wont help you - it will actually make your belly look bigger since there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat - all those exercises do NOT burn fat - the only thing they do is build muscle.
