Actually, your shoulders are not going to improve a boxing punch. They are good foundations for the chest and the arms to hang out of, but the TRICEPS and the latissimus dorsi are also not to be overlooked. The triceps especially since they are paired muscles with the biceps and actually make up more of the upper arm muscles than the biceps. The punch begins in the lat which drives the upper arm forward, then the tricep extends the arm the rest of the way on a jab or a hook. The bicep comes into play more on a punch like an uppercut

Biceps don't contribute to punching power at all. Punching power comes from the hips.

I would agree with actor...triceps play more of a role in punching power than biceps. As a matter of fact...if you have ever noticed a bodybuilder and how they cant straighten out their arms...I would say a overdeveloped bicep probably DETRACTS from punching power by destroying your range of motion.

But I have also seen people with neither that have helacious punching power...I seriously believe that derives from stance and balance. If you dont have those down...honestly none of the exercise in the world will help your power. Your power derives from your base stance. Too narrow...and you hit too light...too wide...and you hit hard..but you lose mobility.

Most people, including me, believe you are simply born with boxing power. Somehow you've ended up the with right combination of explosiveness and timing to be able to just touch someone and hurt them badly.

Biceps slow your punch down. Really, strong hips, legs and core are the key. People who are explosive like shot-putters, power lifters and sprinters will likely punch harder.

Look at how guys like Foreman and Hamed hit people. Their mechanics aren't always great, but they just connect and bowl people over. You can't teach that sort of thing. Often though these kind of guys get caught by guys with superior technique, in the above case Ali and Barerra.

Shoulders I am guessing. The biceps are small muscles where the shoulders have multiple muscles along the front, side, and rear areas.

i've got been doing Max-OT (see hyperlink under). that's an entire physique exercising ordinary that hits each and each muscle group as quickly as each and every week, alongside with shoulders, biceps, and triceps. yet another section it fairly is much extra significant than workouts for coming up muscle is your nutrients plan. in case you attempt to construct muscle, you're able to consume extra energy than you burn. consume an outstanding form of protein and good carbs. decrease decrease back on the fat, yet nonetheless get some good fat (used for testosterone production). A 40/40/20 chop up (protein/carbs/fat) is sweet.

Punching power comes from your hips. Otherwise "actormyk" is correct.

Shoulders. It acts as a hinge (just like in a door) that allows you to get full range of motion in your punch.
