when i was 9, my bro went to Nam. i wasn't told anything about it or him. one day he was just gone.i didn't even know that he came back when he did. i can't remember seeing him again for 5 yrs. that was at his wedding.we saw each other now and again after that but only for a few yrs. then he disappeared. popped back in for a yr and gone again for 10. when my mom died 12 yrs ago,he started coming around again. it took him a long time to realize that i wasn't the 9 yr old i used to be. he'd made some huge errors in his life and is paying for them with his health now. i don't really know him like i'd like to but he's back for good now. he finally figured out that he has one family. that's it, and we were here all along. he was just to stupid to see it. he'll tell you that himself. i guess my point is, your bro will figure this out on his own. you can't force it. one day he'll wake up and wonder where everyone has gone. maybe his decision to visit is the beginning. good luck.

No, I don't even have any brothers. I only have one older sis, who is only 3 yrs. older then me. She is 17, and I'm 14, and live together. Sometimes I wish I had an older brother though. In your case, I feel bad that you and your brothers relationship is like that. Maybe he just does'nt know how to talk, and get back on track with you. Its almost like you guys are strangers! Don't worry, your not alone, me and my dad never talk. We live together, and don't say much to each other at all. I only see him on weekends, because he goes to work while I'm at school, and comes home at night while I'm asleep. We pass each other from time to time, and he buys me stuff sometimes, but only if I need it, like food. I just think he does'nt know how to be a father, and thinks its way too late to get back on track. So we kinda just ignore each other, me and my sis don't even say "hi" or "bye" to him. He does'nt seem to care, and I think he has gotten used to it. He does talk to my mom though. my mom basically does everything for me and my sis. All my dad does is pay the house bills, cook nasty food, feed the dog from time to time, and take care of his plants outside, which he pays more attention to then us. I guess thats why I have always felt the need for an older brother, maybe he would be the only "guy" figure in my life. Oh well, me and my sis are very close, and I tell her everything. If me and my sis get into a fight, we are over it after like 5 min. We don't even have to make up, we just start talking again. The longest we have stayed mad at each other would probably be like 2 hours. We can both be very stubborn. My dad, mom, sis, and I are all pretty content with how we live, and we have everything we need, and most things we want...........
Good luck with your situation!
