um...yea of course its harmful, yes it kills brain cells, yes it will catch up to you....its a drug and weed and any other drug is pretty much just an accuse to solve/run away from unwanted things or problems...or to feel good or cool and accepted when really if this is the case then that person would probably have so insecurity issues with themselves. so enjoy life! dont do drugs! love yourself! and life above the influence! cuz if u did it then u would definately regret it and its basically as if ur saying u dont care about ur life and most of the time not anybody elses either since you'd be putting them in danger.
so hope that helped u...cuz theres other ways to solve problems and deal with things
:)

tons of things kill brain cells- playing football, drinking alcohol- in fact tons of brain cells die naturally, & you regenerate more than you kill- but the tougher question is how autonimous do you want to be- if you are an adult your body is your domain to do with as you please. Many take this liberty of will & destroy themselves, but some know how to handle both their virtues & their vices. & if the weed is quality it smells sweet & musky- it's the bud of a flower- there to attract you & pollinating bees- & the fact that it has a component that creates euphoria should not be taken lightly. The threat society has with it is that it is surrounded by unknowns, it has not been well studied enough, for a long time it could not be studied, but most recent studies have found it to be a great deal less dangerous than the narcotics that fill the streets. Compared to meth, weed is a walk in the park. It is a chemical, & that means that all it can do is interact with your system- if you were a jerk before you took it now you are just a jerk with a high, if you are dim before- a few tokes won't make you cooler- but if you are a bright person a joint won't make you a dimwit.

I used to smoke it. I am probably a lot older than you, I used to buy it when it was $25.00 an Ounce! So I have smoked quite a lot of it in my day...Just don't anymore, just makes me tired and eat...having said that.....
I think "Weed" is the most obnoxious thing our US government wastes tax dollars on fighting....Supply and Demand. Neither of them have lessened the 30 years I know of......I personally think, for Young people, it may not be such a good thing. Getting their education, and planning their future won't be so productive it they are High all the time.....It does make people unambitious and lazy...Not all. but I would say the numbers would be pretty up there....I do believe that 21 and over, it is so much less harmful than alcohol, so I don't see anything wrong with someone coming home from work, and in the privacy of their own home, smoke a little to relax.
I have NEVER, EVER, heard of someone High on Pot, Murder their spouse or children, or rob someones house to get a "pot fix".....Hard drugs and Alcohol are so much worse...And with the Meth problem? The police have a bigger problem then weed, believe me when I tell you!! My brother got hooked on that crap, serving 10yrs in Jail, got hooked so bad, he lost his home, job, car, and tried to snatch this lady's purse because he was "Jonesing".....What a waste of Tax Payer's money to go to the extent to bust someone for 28grams, and throw them in Jail with Murderers and Rapists and total nut jobs, so they come out worse than when they entered....The ?, DEA, State, etc...whoever benifits $$$ is the only reason busts for weed occur.....They make money off the cars and homes they confiscate and sell, and it can't be taxed, because if "legal" you could grow the crap yourself....Can't legalize it, because of that, and the fact Kids who try and like it, will steal their neighbors or parents plants, so it'll never be legalized....It should be decriminalized, but if you get caught giving/selling it to a minor, you get in big trouble....Then they police can go after the Meth labs that are an epidemic across the country!!!!! That's how I feel about it....

despite what the vast majority will say:

no it does not kill brain cells:

"this notion is based on research done during the second Reefer Madness Movement. A study attempted to show that marijuana smoking damaged brain structures in monkeys. However, the study was poorly performed and it was severely criticized by a medical review board. Studies done afterwards failed to show any brain damage, in fact a very recent study on Rhesus monkeys used technology so sensitive that scientists could actually see the effect of learning on brain cells, and it found no damage."

ironically, they have found a neruoprotective agent in cannabis, dexanabinol. in addition, they have found that one of the cannabinoids protects against alzheimer's (and other neurodegenerative diseases), even more efficiently than the current prescribed medication for the disease

it only catches up to you if you lead a sedentary lifestyle

no it does not cause cancer:

"Marijuana smoke is presumed carcinogenic not only because it contains PAHs, but also because cannabinoids, in their own right, modulate cytochrome (CYP1) enzymes required for PAH activation and detoxification.

Until quite recently, PAH-related carcinogenicity was attributed to CYP1 involvement with PAH-related DNA damage in vitro, whereas in vivo experiments now suggest a crucial role for CYP1 enzymes in the detoxification rather than metabolic activation of PAHs (Nebert et al. 2004). As competitive substrates for CYP1 enzymes, concomitantly administered hydrocarbons have been shown to prevent the development of tumors that otherwise results from the administration of a single hydrocarbon (Conney 2003). In the same respect, cannabinoids may competitively inhibit the activation of otherwise carcinogenic hydrocarbons (i.e., PAHs)."

in other words: cannabinoids have antitumor properties. which explains why potheads arn't getting lung cancer

I think in medicinal purposes it is something that should be available. I also think it should be legalized and people should make that choice for themselves on whether they want to use it or not. As for the health risks-it definitly does damage to the brain. I grrew up in the 70's and I can assure you my friends who were heavy users are not the same. They seem to have trouble comprehending conversations and are very difficult to communicate with. They also are very depressed unless they are high. They are very slow minded too. When they aren't high they appear very zombyish. Not a way I would ever want to live. Also, smoking pot is as bad for your lungs as smoking cigarettes. I'm so happy I never chose to smoke pot, as I can be happy in life without any crutches and still have healthy lungs so I can fully enjoy everything I want to do now. You really pay a price for anything you do, the older you get. It doesn't look fun to see the life of a someone who enjoyed pot for way too many years!

yea it might just be harmful...as for ppl out there who have been brain washed by the government...no pot is not the gateway drug...they say if u do pot u eventually lead up to other drugs...well asked any coke head have they ever smoked a cigerette, or drank liquor b4....because if that is so..then why aren't we looking at cigettes...know cancere sticks...or liquor....know brain cell killer as gateway drugs...oh yeah...because they are legal...i don't do pot...nor do i advise it...but i don't advise smoking cigerttes either...but let this be know...all of those ppl who say "its illegal..it's a drug" or whatever...believe this...if weed was legal...those same ppl would be toking it up....just like liquor was one illegal...now its a power house seller....oh yea...and there is no scientific fact that weed that doesn't have all the added chemical that ppl put in it kills brain cells

Love it. I've been smoking for 15 years now and have quit here and there, but I have always enjoyed coming home from work and lighting up a joint. Can kill brain cells but I still do work.
