We would like the M&S DC1 CD Changer...I enjoy do it yourself projects. My home has never had an intercom system in it and I was wondering how difficult this would be for me to do. This system has a master (I would install it in my kitchen), 7 substations, a patio and front door stations. Mind you, I know basic wiring skills, fishing through walls, cutting sheet rock etc. And advice? Thanks.

My 21 years in the alarm, cctv, card access biz SAYS go wireless whenever possible. You can get locally powered units that use RF instead of wire

IF you have to pull wire:

Are there fire stop blocks in the framing? If so are they above or below your installation height??
Insulation. That always makes wire pulling fun!!!
Are your walls textured?? If yes can you match that in your dry wall repair?? This can be a life or death decision depending on your spouse!!!!!!!
If you have to pull from the attic are you going to mess up blow in insulation??????

I did Banks so we did pull wire. That was out of the dirt construction normally not add in stuff.

THINK OF ALL THE FUTURE RAZING FROM THE WIFE IF YOU DAMAGE SOMETHING VS NOTHING
