The basis of the Bible accurately predicting the future comes from the divine inspiration that the authors received. The OT is full of prophecies that came to pass and there is no reason to doubt that the prophecies given by God in the NT will also come to pass. Here's one prophecy that Jesus made around 30ad that came to pass in 70ad when the Roman army destroyed Jerusalem and after burning the temple they took it apart stone by stone so that they could recover the gold that had melted in the heat of the fire and gone in between the stones before cooling.

Luke 21:5 And while some were speaking of the temple, how it was adorned with noble stones and offerings, he said, 6 "As for these things that you see, the days will come when there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down." 7 And they asked him, "Teacher, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?"

Luke 21:20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, 22 for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written. 23 Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people. 24 They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

After the Romans destroyed Jerusalem the Jews were taken captive and scattered just like Jesus said around 40 years before He died and rose again. Tradition has it that no Christians were killed in the storming of Jerusalem because they took heed to Jesus' warning and departed the city before it's fall.

The Apostle John who wrote the book of Revelation says that he received his information from Jesus. The thing about the book of Revelation however is that it is filled with symbolic visions that are often hard to interpret. While the events described will come to pass, it's hard to say exactly when and how they will play out.

Back in the day when the Bible was written there were men who watched the stars and they could tell the future from that.
The three wise men that came to Jesus' birth were those type of men, that's how they knew of the birth.
So then they decided whenever that star appeared there would be a saviour born. They figured out how many years there was between the appearance of those type of stars. Something like that only I don't know all the big Biblical terminology for it.

The basis in the book of Revelation and other parts of the Bible that involve prophecy, is that they are revalations from God. If you read the first couple chapters of revelation it clearly says that it is a angel and the Lord. They are not fatasies they will become reality.

The title Revelation is from its first word apokalupsis meaning to unveil, disclose or reveal. It is a revelation of, from, and about Jesus Christ.

The people of God must, by grace, persevere in the hour of tribulation, knowing their enthroned Lord will return in triumph.
