Hi All.

I'm currently trying to get fit. I joined a gym, and I go every other day and so far it's working out pretty well. I've lost 10lbs just from the physical activity.

Now it gets hard. Obviously, I have to change the way I eat. Although, *thats* the hard part. Since it's the summer and I'm a student, I'm currently working at McDonalds. The problem is... I'm going to get a lot of 8 hour shifts, and the food is very tempting at 50% off.

Any ideas on what food to take with me to work, so that I can eat healthy while there? I get bored with food easily, so anything that can change it up and make it exciting would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I would eat a good healthy meal before work. That way you won't be so hungry when you're at work. But on breaks eat fruits like apples and bananas, they're filling. And granola bars are good snacks. Also, drink a lot of water to curve the hunger. For lunch you could make a chicken breast salad or whole wheat pasta and tomato sauce. Light on dressings. Just be creative and whatever you do don't eat McDonald's. They don't have anything healthy but water and orange juice. LOL Even their salads are high in calories.

I think that planning will be a big help to you. Plan ahead for the meals you will take to work with you. You might start by making a list of foods you enjoy that are healthy choices that can also be prepared to transport. After you have developed a nice long list, use it to help you plan your meals. It's a good idea to take the time once a week to write down your menus and make sure you have the items on hand for your lunches. Be sure to prepare them the night before so you aren't rushed if you have to get up and out at an early hour. Make sure that you plan meals that are appealing to you. There is nothing easier than abandoning the lunch you brought from home for a McDonald's special if you pack things that aren't appealing. You might include a McDonald's meal once or twice a week if you are careful to figure out what would be a healthy McDonald's meal and stick to that. Good luck!

HI, good determination, just stick to it. Are you a creative person? If yes, then it'll be good for you cos this will help you on your creativity in your food intake daily. I know that taking the same food is sucks. You can change the way food looks, though ot may be the same thing every day. Best and easy way for fast food are fruits and vegies, some cereals will help very much.Perhaps it won't hurt to take a burger if you can burn it out. But resist the temptation of eating burger, I know it's very convenient and cheap. Keep your tongue on natural food and you will do fine. Good luck.

Always eat 80% raw vegetables with the rest in fruit, meat, fish, nuts and grains. The vegetables are your building block for protein and fruit is mainly for cleaning you out naturally. All the processed foods do is spike your blood sugar at an unhealthy level and over the years(long term) will lead to overuse of your digestive organs and disease.

Stay away from the stuff if you want to eat mcd's then you need to eat "grilled food" for a snack mix nuts, sugar free snacks such as jello, pudding and or light yogurt. Increase your portien and fiber this food rich in this will help feel fuller longer.

Cottage food and apples is great together. How about some containers of yogurt (low fat of course)? Fresh carrots, cucumbers and etc. are great, too. And the fresh apple walnut salad from Mc Donald's is great! Variety is the key. Stay away from those fries now. And good luck!

I grill chicken breast 8 at a time in the oven. 350 degrees for about 90 minutes. I wrap them in tin foil. I put them in the fridge and carry one with me when I'm out. About 100 calories, 10% fat, it works great.

Working at McD's is tough, but doable...The food tastes so good.
Of course you can do the salads, but that will get boring.
Switch your meals around. ie: plain cheeseburger, small fry,
one day, Grilled chix sandwich/no frys, diet soda, Salad,
parfait, with granola...
You will do great, just remember do not deny yourself the good stuff, just do it in moderation
