Why do people give other people's questions a thumbs down on YA, if they don't curse, or even say anything rude? Is it because they don't agree with their answer?

It's normally because the answer is sarcastic or irrelevant.

Yes . Or it could be an accident . Have gotten thumbs down for a couple of factually correct answers , that weren't in dispute. Have given thumbs down for factually incorrect answers , that were way off, so much so that it could cause problems for anyone following the advice . Nothing wrong with that . Also for answers that don't even attempt to answer the question .

Well, personally I give a thumbs down if the information provided is incorrect or inappropriate. For example, if somebody asks a question about abortion being accepted in Christianity, all that needs to be said is, "No, it's not generally accepted etc. facts etc." But, some people find it necessary to respond with, "Abortion is wrong it's bad it's MURDER any1 who has an abortion should be killed just like the baby ITS A PERSON TOO God said so and you'll go to hell if you have an abortion." So, I feel it necessary to give them a thumbs down, for giving an inapropriate answer.

I think they do it because they don't agree with it. I only give thumbs down if the person wrote an answer just to be mean.

Yes, if they don't agree with the answer they are rating it with a thumbs down. Just like if they like or agree with the answer, they will rate with a thumbs up.

If somebody gave someone a thumbsdown for their question, i would think it is because it is not really a question or because as more and more is common, it is a question no reasonable person would ask. It can't be because they don't like their answer, as a person asking a question cannot answer it as well.
