It seems to me that they should be ashamed of themselves for worshipping a god who presides over such horror in the world.

Clearly it's futile to argue that a god who is omniscient and omnipotent is somehow not responsible for what happens in the universe that he designed and created, so that won't wash.

If such a god existed he would necessarily be either uncaring or malevolent. Why praise and worship a character who would have to be at best amoral and at worst supremely immoral?

It's quite disturbing how many people think that their omnipotent omniscient god needs them to make excuses for him. Think it through folks - If such a god existed, creating the universe would be like writing a novel. Every thing that existed, every event that occurred, would be his choice. To say that the characters he created could do or be anything other than what he wanted, would be clearly illogical.

God created a perfect world and put us here to care for it.
He gave us a pretty good guide book, a manual of operations if you will, gave us free will to choose for ourselves how we would live. We make choices every day each of which has consequences.

I would ask you, why do we allow pedophiles and rapists and murderers to breath free air, when God has told us that these should not live. Put that in your capitol punishment data bank.

Let's have a conversation about personal responsibility.

If God had chosen to make us all little robots that walk in lock step and praised him all day and never did anything wrong, someone would figure out a way to complain about that as well.

My friend I see you have the same understanding as a "NO" to start with, however you would fail the "NO" qualification test because you stop the learning process at rhe half way point. I can say that because I am the originator of the "NO"s and the only "NO" I know that does exist.

The story is only 1/2 over when you do understand what the true God did when he brought into existance all these so called immoral people you spoke of and declared like paedophiles, rapists, torturers, mass murderers etc. The God I understand did this to prove he is in absolute control and that at that point it is time to see the great ability of the true God. Once one accepts the fact he is in such a position by perfect design, he can accept that as a pure truth and then desire a change be made by the true God to correct this fact.
Yes, the amazing and deserving worship true God has already in place in a pure just justice system the provisions to change those who you mentioned from the stated position to just the opposite position by the "Born Again" or "Born from Above" process. Is that not great.?

My friend you see what is now as what will be tomorrow which is an absolute impossibility. I suggest you return to simplicity and try to understand such simple things like for sure tomorrow you will be 1 day older thus a change is automatically on schedule in that respect.

The "immoral" in your words entities only have to desire to be changed for tomorrow after accepting the pure truth. So sweet, so simple and so easy for one who can use the ability to think and to understand. Consequently a thinking "NO" can not help but to worship such a great God my friend.

Please put back on your thinking cap and try to see the whole story before you start with these questions that seem to confuse so many with a simlilar problem of not seeing the simple things in truth. How right it is stated that "The truth only hurts those who will not accept it".

Many people wonder about this, and it is a hard question to give a good answer to. The best way I understand it is that God made people to have a free will and to have their own mind. He could stop such things as crime and immorality, but that would be taking away their right of free will.

I have often thought about that too. There is a line from an old rock song that says that “the same guy who made kittens also put snakes in the grass”. And the Bible makes it clear that Satan is apparently unable to do anything without God’s permission – there are even passages in the Old Testament where God is apparently using reverse physiology to get Satan to make people sick (Job 2:1-10), or to get Satan to tempt people to do bad things in order to test them (1 Kings 22:16-28) and so on.

This is why many Muslins and Atheists think that 1 Chronicles 21:1 contradicts 2 Samuel 24:1, because the passage in Chronicles says that Satan temped David to number the fighting men of Israel, but the passage in 2 Samuel says that the “Angel of the Lord [God]” moved David to count the fighting men. This may come as a surprise to you, but Christians do NOT consider this to be a contradiction. Satan is doing God’s will here – perhaps unknowingly & unwillingly, but doing it all the same. Think about that.

So what is God up to? If he hates sin, then why does he allow it, and in some cases, even seem to provoke it a little? This is the one real weakness in Christian doctrine – we insist that God is good in spite of the fact that creation is obviously full of pain and suffering.

The Bible seems to suggest that a complete answer is beyond human comprehension, but a partial explanation is that in order to have free will (you knew that the “free will” argument was coming, didn’t you?), God has to allow people to make their choices, including the bad ones, and let everything play out to its logical conclusion. If God took away the ability of murders or robbers or rapists or child abusers to make their own choices, then he would also have to take away your ability to make your own mistakes and your poor choices too. Why would he limit just the free will of certain people, and not others?

BTW, I noticed that people like you who criticize God for allowing evil to exist, also criticize God for sending the two bears to attack the gang of forty-two of the youths who were trying to kill the old man Elisha (2 Kings 2:24), and you also criticize God for sentencing unrepentant sinners to Hell. So if God intervenes to save an old man by send two bears to save him, you call God cruel, but if God does nothing and simply allows people to get away with their sins, you still call God cruel. God cannot win with you. You are apparently just looking for an excuse to criticize God.

I pray and worship God, who is good and made man. Man also has the ability to make choices. Mostly wrong as you mentioned. I also have a God who forgives and gives humans a second chance to turn our lives around for the better. This is called "Born Again" Read John 3:16 in the Bible. God loves you!

God created man and gave us clear paths to follow. We humans did not follow his path and created a society that gives birth to all the monsters u name.May Gods love be with u so that u may see the mirror for what it is in this life, because in the next life Jesus will not be there to shelter u from the truth. To judge makes us poor and imprisons the mind, to love and forgive sets us free. That's why we worship God so we can be in heaven here on earth and forever in the next life.Peace be with u.

First of all, I don't accept the premise that God is omnipotent, or all powerful. I don't think you can accept a God that is both all powerful and all loving, therefore I choose to believe that God is all loving over all powerful. To say that God is the creator, or source of life, does not have to mean that God has to control all that God created. Two people join to create a child, are they responsible for that child's every decision and action?

I suppose it might be easier to worship a god who does not take credit/blame for everything, always, everywhere...like the Greeks and the Romans did. That way, if a person worked in a bakery, he need only concern himself with yeast, and the wheat harvest, and his wages...

But, that's not how I feel, or think about God, and the world we live in...

god is not the one who created paedophiles, rapists, torturers, mass murderers, and the like. those people are the ones who created them selves. as for me, it is not right to blame god for the existence of those people. perhaps, we all have free will and those kinds of people that you mentioned chose to be like that. life is a choice - this statement is a fact that can never be changed. more so, god is not the one who presides such acts.

i beg to disagree but it is not shameless to praise and worship god. infact, it is such an honour and a privilege. for he deserves it. he deserves it morethan anyone, morethan anything, that exists.

god bless! =)

They just say, that was the old god, the new one is so much more loving.

However when I see children who suffer from Harlequin Ichthyosis or Progeria just to name a few, makes you wonder how anyone could believe in a benevolent God.
