Hi, I consider myself an atrractive but shy guy, I'm 21, and whenever I see a hot girl I want to just go there and talk to her, but can never manage to do it; afraid of lookin' desperate (which honestly I think I am)...
So, can someone give me some tips on what to do to make a girl make the 1st move and talk to me?

Sorry, there's no magic way to make someone else do your mind reading and approach you as you would like.
Life is full of challenges and this is a challenge for you.
What's the worst thing that can happen if you approach her and talk first?
Worst thing: Indicate she's not interested in you!
At least you'd know that. Now you have no idea!
So stand up, put one foot in front of the other , and take it step by step. If you want, you can do it in stages:
1) you can walk by and just smile at her.
2) You can walk by and just say Hi to her.
Then? It's up to you to take it further depending on her reactions!

I absolutely agree with some of the posters.
CONFIDENCE is where it's at. Talking to a girl shows confindence, not desperateness. Shy is not a bad quality, its ok to be shy. Some of the best men are shy.
Girls really expect men to make the first move, you can't really get a girl to 'make' the first move unless she *really* likes a guy. How can she like a guy if she doesn't really know him?
I would suggest practicing. You can do it, it won't seem desperate and the more you practice - the less hard it will seem.

well...usually girls wait for the guy to make the first move..most girls don't approach guys..because they are just waiting for them too..so i say just try and boost your confidence..dont be shy just take a risk..and hope for the best..but there are some girls out there who will approach a guy..and the best way for that to happen is to just look over and smile..and if you get braver..you could even have the waiter in a restuarant get a woman a drink or something..but that doesn't always work though..so keep that in mind...but your best chances to meet a nice girl is to approach her first..well good luck

buddy you gotta do it.
you can just smile and be like "Hi." casually. If she thinks you're attractive she might talk to you. If not then either she's shy or not interested.
Go hang out at a cafe or something of the like, you'll meet nice ladies there. and not slu*s hopefully.

I believe part of what attracts a woman initially is a confident guy - not cocky - CONFIDENT. Ask her - you have NOTHING TO LOSE!!! God Bless!
