Just to clear this up because their has been some confusion, you can't upgrade from Business to Home Premium. One is not really better than the other, they are just different things. The hierarchy is Home Basic and then Home Premium on the Home user side, and Business on the business user side. Home and Business versions have different features that are taylored to their specific purpose. Ultimate is the top of the line on both sides, it essentially takes all the features of Home Premium and Business and combines them together, and adds a few extras as well. You can do the anytime upgrade to go from Business to Ultimate, which is cheaper than just going out and buying it in the box. No version of Windows Vista comes with Office, you must buy that seperately.

You can only upgrade to Ultimate Edition from Business Edition. Office is not included with Windows, it's a separate purchase. However, you can just use OpenOffice instead. It's compatible with Microsoft Office and it's free. Why pay Microsoft?

I bought a new pc recently and it came with vista, but no office. If you need a copy of office before you can buy it you can try a free download from microsoft. Good luck with your vista....I have a lot of problems with mine for some reason!!

home premium is better than business.
you will need to get office 2k7 separately, you can get the trial from Microsoft.com
you can get the upgrade and upgrade the OS, no starting from scratch.
basic < business < premium < ultimate

The product key on the botton of the computing device is for living house windows XP, no longer workplace (examine the sticky label, it says living house windows XP). you easily could purchase Microsoft workplace one after the different. No computing device comes with Microsoft workplace; they only comprise a tribulation of workplace.
