100% depends on the chemistry. If the chemistry is there and I feel a good vibe and a good connections, then sure, I would go for it. But I wouldn't expect it to lead anywhere--nothing past a kiss on a first date.
I don't think a gentleman is only classified as a "non-kisser on the first date." Even if the first date leads to a kiss, you can be a gentelman--open the door, pay for dinner, tell her she looks nice, etc.!!

Yes, absolutely if the chemistry was right. Getting to first base is a very good start.
