Surprise kiss?

Hypothetical situation; say you have a really wonderful friend- a true joy whom you always enjoy hanging out with. You like this friend more than friendship (you wish for more), but you value your friendship more than anything and you don't dare risk ruining what you have now.

You're hanging out with your friend one night, and right before your part with your friend, your friend gives you a surprise kiss right on the lips. Before you can really have any response, your friend smiles and quickly says g'night and leaves.

The questions are thus- how would you react right after the kiss, and how would it change your mind about your friend?

She obviously cares about you. Talk t oher about how much you want to date her. Platonic friendships do not work. At this point, they will not work for you. Be open and honest, and in this case things should work out well for you.

Great question, Is this a real situation or did you just make it up inside your head, really its a good one, congrats.. Well I would yes be very surprised, and would not be able to sleep that night, I be live that the following day I would talk to my friend, about "why the kiss yesterday", and if I have the same feelings, right before I leave him for that day, I would kiss him back as well(play kiss tag,and tell him you're it!) As a 50 yr. old male, I read it as an indication she hopes the relationship can go farther and, although she kind of fears letting you know, she can't control himself. I had that kind of a surprise with a female friend one time...we were parting company after five of us had been somewhere together, and she kissed me in a friendly but unmistakably flirtatious way. I let her know I liked it, and we discussed a physical relationship. (We finally decided not to, but mmm the discussion was luscious.) She didn't let you respond right after, but if you wish for more your approval must have showed. Maybe when you see her again you ought to raise the topic of a deeper relationship, as she seems to have made her opening bid. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Well first off - The next day..should hang out again and ask her what that was all about. And How she feels. Then if we planned on dating or whatever tell her how I feel about her and the friendship. That if the relationship goes for the worst. theres a chance it will break us apart. (Only cause 'staying friends' doesn't happen to often)

That happened to me. I had just moved to town and ran into her. We had been buddies in college. She was engaged but offered to show me around the city. We started going out. One night she just kissed me, like you described. I kissed her back. 2 weeks later she broke off with her fiance. One week after that she proposed to me. We've been married over 40 yrs.

it really wouldn't change my mind about him. I'd probably mention it to my friend and ask about it later, but i'd definetely not let it ruin the relationship. I wouldn't think about it too much or let it get to my head, maybe you just have nice lips that were tempting her... just ask he later :)
