Being penticostal is having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Religion is man's way to fellowshiping with God, on man's terms. In the book of Acts in the bible, after Jesus ascended into heaven, He sent the Holy Ghost to those believers who wanted more of God.... Everything that the disciples did in the book of Acts- healing the sick, etc , believers in Jesus Christ can do today.....for more info, visit FaceEternity.com

Pentacostal is a general term and is used by a wide variety of Christian groups.
Some Pentecostal congregations are very strict as far as dress, entertainment choices, etc. Others are very liberal.
Usually a Pentecostal group believes the things an Evangelical believes but also believes in the "gifts of the spirit" for today, speaking in tongues, and faith healing.

Many of the pentecostal denominations have their roots in the revivals of southern California in the early 1900s. Especially that of Azusa street. The pentecostal claim to fame is that it is a church that has pentecost or the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the initial physical evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit is the speaking in tounges. I myself belong to the Assemblies of God. To see our 16 fundamental truths then I would suggest going to www.ag.org. I hope this helps.
