Being someone who who has been homeless at one time, id say that what you need most BACK again is 'stable security'. When you are homeless, you do miss the obvious things like electricity. a bed, food, and money. But if you need it all sumed up into a couple words, I would have to say that the term 'Stable Security' could encompass all of the obvious basic needs. Feeling secure is an emotional need. And let me tell you, especially when you have a family, wife and kids, that are also homeless - it is security and stability that you wish you could take back, if not for you for your family

1. Faith in God.
2. Personal resposibility.

I live in one of the "homeless" capitals of the USA, Santa Monica, where we are taxed to death to pay for endless programs that are a wasteful redistribution of our money. No less than 20 pass by our house every 24 hours. No lie, and it's scary, most of them are menaces. Average police response time 1-3 hours.

Well, I guess you'd have to look at each of them differently. I.e. one might be homeless because they were a Vietnam vet who was injured and can't get a job because they are either disabled or psychologically damaged. In this case, a disabled vet who is homeless might need to be told thank you for your bravery and for fighting for our country. If they are psychologically damaged, they may just need someone to listen to them rant. Just keep in mind each homeless person is homeless for different reasons, so they're needs would be approached differently.

hmm... Homeless person...any one of us can be homeless, thank God we are not. All depends on the problems they're having, some money, some drug abuse, some over stressed mind, some who knows what happened to each one of them. If you can help them, take them to the shelter first, clean up and then take them to counseling. God bless.

To be treated like a human being, left alone when we want to be by ourselves, and fed when we show up at soup kitchens, without a lot of questions and religious spiels. The image that people have of bums, druggies, alchoholics and skanks is totally wrong. We're homeless for reasons you don't know and you don't need to know. Don't judge.

To know that there's a place they can go to where there's food and shelter. Fear that basic survival needs will not be met is terrifying.
