How can you put a true Muslim in the same category as a terrorist?
I've known tons of Muslims and I've never known any of them to strap a bomb to their chest and blow up innocent people or to use innocent people as human shields during combat. or fire rockets at innocent women and children.

"Muslims" that strap bombs to themselves for the purpose of killing people in the name of God have maligned the true purpose and identity of Islam. Ask any devout Muslim, and they will tell you that suicide bombers are not true Muslims. Islam preaches peace and kindness to others, they follow the same ten commandments as in Judaism and Christianity. All they are doing is convincing their members that what they are doing is actually sanctioned by God and is righteous, many members are brainwashed and join these terrorist organizations because they are very poor and literally have very few options for survival and prosperity.
Also keep in mind that many a times in history, Christians have tortured and murdered many innocent people all in the name of Christianity. Examples you say? Well, how about the Crusades, all were wars in the name of God. Or the Inquisition, where thousands of innocent people were tortured, forced to convert to Christianity, or were murdered if they refused to convert. Also if you do some research, you will find that numerous Popes dating back to the 1200s have corrupted their positions for power, wealth and glory, very unchristian motives.

Yes, but how many 'true Christians' strap a bomb to their car and blow up family planning clinic? Seems I've heard of a few. It's not the religion, itself, that's the problem. It's the extremism of the things that the followers do in the name of the religion that's the problem.

Simple... "Monotheism."*
:O
I've never known a Muslim to strap a bomb to their chest and blow up innocent people nor have I know a Muslim to use innocent people as human shield during combat. (I've neevr known a Muslims to fire rockets at innocent women and children, or men either, for that matter.) Then again, I don't know that many Muslims. -shrug-

Easily- when you have anyone of either religion who is intolerant of the beliefs of others, self-righteous and judgmental, you have two of a kind. People who follow the letter of the religious law, but do it w/o following the spirit of the law are equally guilty. It amazes me how meanspirited many christians are. I do not think their christ would approve, I also do not think Allah approves of wanton killing in his name regardless of what the letter of the Koran sez.
Both villify my religion, but as a group we are generally more tolerant, loveing and forgivinh than they. We do not judge others...of course, in all groups there are some bad seeds. If people actually lived the golden rule, which most religions have in one form or another- we'd all be better off. In the end- let the gods and goddesses sort it out. Just an aside- what kind of perverted god condemns virgins to service murderers at a ratio of 70 to one? Don't the women deserve better> I do not understand how any thinking woman could embrace suck a sexually sadistic excuse for god! (referring to zealot sects, not regular muslims)

Well let's see, got it, how about the way they don't supply birth control to third world countries where the child mortality rate is appalling. The only form of birth control they support is abstinence. It doesn't appear to be working though. Oh yea, and how about the reason they justify their opinion regarding stem cell research. I know it's your child, but that cell has a soul. Or maybe it’s the intolerance toward gay people, or people who have committed the sin of adultery. Forget the fact that your wife's cheating on you and won't give you a divorce, you should not have slept with that woman ... off with your head. And what about ... wait a fat woman in a burka is heading my way ... I'm concerned. Peace out Moron.

who said they were comparing them?
While Christians have done some pretty bad things, war and such no one claims they are close to Muslims when it comes to having a very low appreciation of life especially of those the most vulnerable. Women or children or even animals mean very little to them in terms of value.
Only a soldier ready to die for the cause has any meaning.

What is a "true Christian"? Most of the self proclaimed Christians that I know would not know a Christian if they tripped over one. Read your history. Christians have murdered more people than any other religious group.

But SOME of them stand outside abortion clinics and threaten to kill the doctors there. And some of THEM do it. Still others advocate the mass murder of everyone in the middle east ("turn Iran into glass" "nuke them all"). THAT is how I lump EXTREMISTS together. Most Christians are nice people, same as most Muslims.

Please. Hitler was Christian. HIs body count is considerably
higher than anything that's going in the Middle East right now.
Don't bother saying "but he wasn't a REAL Christian" because
Muslims would say the same about those who committing terror
right now.
Also consider the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition.
Indeed, the Crusades could be considered excellent motive for
Muslims to hate Christians.
And of course that is completely ignoring the unintentional
or at least not obviously hostile intent of colonizers who
"brought the word of God to the heathens" by killing them
or infecting them with disease, etc.
Christians, as a religion, have NO credibility when it comes
to a moral platform. None.
That may not be true of you specifically, or even those around you.
But as a religion in general, the track record is apalling.
The more I read questions in this forum, the more I believe that
you should only be a member of a religion if you know its history.
The world would be a far better place.
Militant agnostic: I don't know and NEITHER DO YOU!
