do i have to completely wear my body out? Do i have to really push myself every workout?

It is important to muscle growth for them to get an adequate rest period between periods of exercise. for instance, only exercise each body part every other day.

At your age it is also important not to overexercise as your body is using a lot of energy for normal growth. You don't specify what you mean by "serious muscle" but wearing your body out will be detrimental.

no you don't have to wear your body out (known as training to fatigue), but you do want to push it pretty hard at each workout.
try a 3 day program based around deadlifts, squats and bench press. with pleanty of rest and good food inbetween

make sure you train with someone who is experienced, so you don't do any damage by using poor techniques

Yea you have to push like you've never pushed before if you want to keep gaining muscle and become big and strong liike the rock...
