Those kids that blast their stereo till the ground shakes and drive around at all hours and wake up the entire neighborhood? Don't kids care about neighbors anymore? Have we lost all morality?

It used to be only in the ghettos, now this crime as hit the suburbs. Doesn't peace and quiet count for anything?

Most cities have noise ordinances, or decible level limits which are punishable by some pretty steep fines. Get the tag number off of the cars that are bothering you and report them.

Playing a car stereo loud enough to disturb someone who is in another car is enough to be punishable by law. It is certainly illegal on a number of grounds to have a stereo above an acceptable level in neighborhoods as well as exhaust level.

Your only potential recourse legally would be to phone in a sound complaint to your local police department. Unfortunately by the time the police arrive at the location the car will have most certainly disappeared. You could attempt to catch them and personally admonish them which sometimes will get them to turn down the stereo when coming through your neighborhood at a future date.

With all of that said don't you think its a far cry to say "we have lost all morality" becuase people are playing loud music. While it is certainly inconsiderate of them to play loud music when others are sleeping I wouldn't be ready to throw them in jail just yet.

Best of Luck,

Guy who has a very loud stereo.

Yes, it is disburbing the peace , and the cops can wright out a ticket for just that. Call up the police for it. get their licence plate if possible and file a report. Cops are not everywhere, you can help them.

I wouldn't call these kids criminals. You can't really do anything except ask police to sit on your road/neighborhood and try to catch the kids listening to the music. They can't do anything if you say that they're doing it, they have to catch them to give them citations for disturbing the peace or noise violations. You can go to you local board of selectmen and ask for them to put a decimal cap on certain parts of the town at certain hours. They did this and my town, and someone got a citation for vacuuming too late at night.... I'd say ignoring it or ear plugs could work too.

We should blast them with painful sound to teach them some manners.

Did you forget what it was to be a kid? You can take action if you like. But please don't forget what it was like to be a kid! We all have stories of some off-the-wall stuff we did! They too will grow up & ***** about something the kids are doing that gets on their last nerve... it's just a cycle!
