You bring water to a boil and then put the corn in for about 4-5 minutes right? Is there something else to it?

I usually nuke mine with the skins on for approximately 3 minutes per cob. The husks allow it to steam and then the peeling process is a snap when you take it out. Always tastes tender, sweet and wonderful!

I love corn on the cob. Here's what I serve along with it:

I buy fish/seafood from the local fishery. Buy fresh and in-season only. While I am there I purchase beluga pearl black and pink caviar.

Order fish cleaned and rinsed well. Place fish on a wide tray packed with shaved ice and sliced lemon halves. Serve with appropiate sauces and delamaise'. I grill fish over a fire pit with cedar, bard and orange woods.

I will also have handy a lot of domestic and foreign beers, red's and white's from my wine cellar; along with fresh breads, smoked meats, various fruits and local and exotic corns, and an assortment of aged cheeses. Of course, remember to the essentials -Belgian dark chocolates and Cuban cigars.

I put the corn on the grill for 5 minutes each side. I serve with clarified butter only.

Actually you need about 10 minutes. The corn needs to cook to the center of the cob for good enzyme inactivation.

It depends how many ears of corn your cooking. I usually cook 7 or 8 at a time and put them in boiling water and time them for 20 minutes.
I have done it in the microwave but it doesn't have the fresh flavor.

You start your timer when the water comes back to the boil after you have put in the corn.

Yes, boiling is great! But, the last time I went camping, we just threw the fresh corn (husk & all) onto the fire.

The husks will burn & you will think that the corn is burned, but, it isn't.

It only takes about 10 minutes, and it is wonderful. Just add butter, salt, whatever you like.

It has that great grilled flavor.
