Whatever you do don't respond to it just mark it as spam...and when it arrives in your bulk folder just delete it...if you respond to it in any way...bingo they've got confirmation that your email address is genuine and heaven knows what they do with that information!

Everyone on the internet will tell you never respond to email you dont recognise. I hope the number you were calling wasnt an 0906 number too.
Some mails are sent out to lists that anyone can buy. People who reply are put on other lists.. By replying you have merely confirmed your email address is up and working.
You are going to get mail whether you spam it or whatever, they will get it and keep sending.
What I do is, if I dont recognise it, I send it straight to trash. Dont even open it. Tell ya friends to put a certain word or letter at the front of the 'message subject line' and then only open that mail, no other.
I recently got a mail from Greetings.com; and when I opened that, it put a Trojan in my computer. They are unreturnable too. So now whenever I get one from Greetings .com, I trash it immediately
Dont worry too much (as long as you dont reply to them) and dont waste any more energy on them. They are idiots somewhere with nout better to do than be a ruddy pest to people. Trash them all!! You cant stop them unfortunately, but trashing the ones you dont recognise may lessen them in the longrun
All mobile voicemail is usually womans voice ,,, more often than not anyway
Have some fun. Dont answer them. Trash them, And SMILE!!

Ignore it. It is a scam operation phis hing for responses...
I never give out my regular email address to 99% of online forms. Many times when you do you wind up getting spammed. I use a particular yahoo account for most online forms. It amazes me that sometimes when I fill out some online form I will be inundated with more spam than normal within 24 hours.

You made a mistake by replying. You're much better off just deleting 'everything' that you don't recognize. It's probably malicious, there might be a virus or it might give somebody your 'number' so they can start to bombard you with thousands upon thousands of unwanted emails. There is software to block unwanted emails though. The virus, however, will have to be anti-virus'd away.

It might not be that the mail is coming from mail.com, it is likely to have a forged header. Try forwarding the email to spamcop.net and it will tell you where its coming from.
Your email address could have been picked up from anywhere... websites, message boards, usenet, etc...

Mark it as junk mail and it will go to your junk mail folder.
Just treat it as junk mail - if someone wanted to contact you then they would leave a message rather than a mobile number (it is possible for scammers to use mobile numbers to connect to a premium rate line - costs you loads and they make money so dont call it again).
So treat it as junk mail use a simular response as adverts for viagra and american penny shares and other junk
