Do you like the Bush administration's policy of you guys NOT BEING ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO THE MEDIA? and the media not being allowed to film the caskets of fallen soldiers?
Do you really believe that you are fighting for our freedom? or do you realize that this is just political rhetoric?

I am sorry. I never joined the military because i went to college and i now work for a natural gas company here in the states. I would consider leaving my career to go die in iraq for Bush and Cheney's buddies at Halliburton, though.

I don't think you are idiots! i have friends in the air force. But i just wanted to get a sense of how informed you guys are. Bush is a liar, and i hope you realize this before you volunteer to get killed for his purposes.

Do you listen to yourself talk? Or do you just spout off random idiotic things? You should join the military and then you can answer all your questions yourself. My guess is you wouldn't make it two hours before peeing your pants and crying for your momma.

Isn't there something gross with this "die for my country crap'?
Its really sick of Americans to keep whining unfair when the other side uses suicide bombers and the west uses "die for my country" crap. What's the difference?
I suggest That you do some real investigation about Iraq's chemical weapons. These weapons were only used on the Kurds and Iranian troops while the US had military advisers on the ground and were using the US recognizance via US satellites. How culpable was the US in that war?

It's a gag order from Bush. America spoke it's mind along with the soldiers during the Vietnam conflict. Bush has gagged the America media along with Admirals and Generals that have tried to openly speak out over the Iraq quagmire. If this wasn't true why would Bush need the one sided partisan Patriot Act and a Military Act?

I think the reality for most in the military is that they want to believe their Commander in Chief, and it is not like they have an option to go.
When the body bags start piling up, and you see a no win, pathetic situation, like in Vietnam, and you are killing Iraqis that are embroiled in a civil war, many begin to wonder. They aren't stupid. They know what is going on, and for them it is staying alive. That is their daily mission! Once that happens, you start getting deserters and the military sure has had their share, you stop meeting enlistment quota's. Then you see extensions in Iraq, people being held over from their contract date and being sent yet again to Iraq!
Many are on their 3rd tour. That is pure BS! A war that has lasted longer than WW II and a VA that can't keep up with the closed head trauma or missing limbs. In Vietnam the majority of deaths, and wounds were caused by rifle fire!
And they know Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 or terrorists! They can read!
This is when the fragging started in Vietnam. They knew they were not going to win, even though they never lost a major battle, including Tet, and no one wants to be the last body bag out!

People do not join the military to fight for the president causes, they join to serve their country, and like it or not, they follow orders that come down, and they do so because that is their job, it is their duty, and that's something you wouldn't understand. The men and women in military service are bound by that service to keep their personal feelings about the war and government and military tactics and choices to themselves. They can have every opinion they want, but being on Active Duty binds them from sharing that opinion through the media.

No body likes Iraq. It is a duty we have signed up for. If you signed up after 9/11 then you knew there was a def chance of you going over seas. If you joined before then you knew that it was a possibility. And its not that we all support the war, there are some no doubt, but I believe its more that we support each other. President Bush is my commander in cheif but that doesn't mean I agree w everything he says. But when I signed that contract I chose to give my rights up. No matter how immoral everyone thinks we are and how currupt they think our government is this is still the best country in the world and we should be proud of our soldiers who laid down their lives to protect the lives of our civilians.

Most of the soldiers don't support the war. But when u sign your name on that contract u follow all orders of the President so we really don't have a choice.

"or do you realize that this is just political rhetoric"
Sounds like you have already answered your own question spammer.
However, I watched a documentary on 60 minutes about an Iowa National Guard unit. All of them were pumped to enter the sandbox, and even wanted to get out of the training beforehand and just go. I have the utmost respect for those guys, don't think they are idiots. They only got pissed when tours got extended by 3 months, which I completely understand.
Phule poet, do some research. Saddam had wmd's, and he used them on the kurds. Bush sr. supposedly disarmed him when we invaded the first time, and Bush still thought there were some left. google chemical ali.

Afghanistan is the location the group behind the 9/11 assaults. Iraq, never had weapons of mass destruction and even if they did Israel would have done something about it just as they had before. Saddam was contained and absolutely no threat to anyone at the time of our invasion. The result was the removal of needed troops from Afghanistan resulting in our ability to combat Al Queda to become even more difficult. Most of my friends who are still active share the same thoughts but as most members of the military who have made it their career will remain silent as it would be detrimental for advancement.

OK--they aren't allowed to speak their mind about this subject. They have taken an oath of loyalty & fealty, something which YOU obviously know nothing about.
Their HONOR is on the line, every minute of every day. What do YOU put on the line---your preference for Starbucks versus Stuckey's coffee?
You can think, believe & say what you like.......and THAT is what our troops ultimately stand for. Like they said in the 60's--they may hate what you say, but they put their LIFE on the line for your right to say it.
Grow UP, fool.......or emigrate to a "better" place!

My best friend is a mobile infantry soldier in Bahgdad. He thinks Bush is an idiot, and thinks this country is being set-up. He also doesn't think we should be there at all. He's told me how easy it is to blow up whole neighborhoods of people, and most of the people there don't have much but rocks to defend themselves with.
