Put in a new light- and my smoke detector goes off when I turn it on? WHY?

why would that be - put in a new light - and when I turn it on sometimes.. my smoke detector goes off.. and it is not wired - it is batteries --- I don't see smoke- or anything such as that - and it isn't the batteries going dead!

it may be that the light is off-gassing a coating or other vapor that the detector is reacting to.

Read the instuctions to check for any installation steps that you may have missed. If there's nothing missed, it may be defective.
