As they just showed a replay of Kyle Petty and Matt Kenseth get together on track at Sonoma, you can here one of the two drivers, sounds like Petty, say "what the F(full word heard)...." over his radio, and it was broadcast over the cable channel. Do you think TNT and NASCAR, AND every broadcasting company covering, showing, rebroadcasting this show, be penalized and fined?

Most sporting events are supposed to be under a 3-5 second delay...and Jr was fined for saying SH!t...even when the news reports, like in Ohio, the Atty. Gen. cussing out a reporter, sure they block the word (BLEEP), but you can still read their lips; DO YOU THINK IF THIS IS THE CASE, THEY SHOULD PUT UP THE RAIN DROP TO BLOCK AND BLUR THE MOUTH, so you can not read what they say, most people are smart enough to know, but kids don't need to hear it and be influenced by these so called "sports idols" or people of important office. what do you think.

Can anyone confirm or correct, NASCAR has rules in effect about cussing over radio communications that can be listened to by fans, television, and radio broadcasting companies?

I thank you all for answering...I see only one negative answer here...Even with that removed (which I cannot do) I am going to let the public vote, because it is too difficult to pick a best among several GOOD answers I agree with. Good luck to you for the 10 points!

I will say this. If they fine and punish TNT for allowing the F-word to air, then every single network television channel should be as well. There was a time where the local channels (CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, WWOR, WPIX, PBS) never used such language. Now, these stations are plagued with bad language because watching programs on TV have become unwatchable. Cannot even watch a clean program with children because of the language, yes, even on our local networks. It just goes to show you that "the scene of this world is changing." (1 Corinthians 7:31)

I don't think TNT should be fined, since a lot of other channels have swearing (The Shield and Rescue Me on FX, NYPD Blue reruns have them, the pilot episode of CSI had Gil Grissom calling cadavers *******, etc.). However, I do believe that Petty should be fined, as he has the power to bite his tongue when he wants to drop an f-bomb, whereas sometimes TV networks don't get a chance to bleep such words out when it's live.

Heres how I understand it.Network television A.B.C AND N.B.C use a 5 second delay but a cable channel such as T.N.T. doesnt have to and obviously aren't.Whats funny is when they went to Kyle before the race he was leading his crew in prayer and a minute later dropping the f-bomb.I like Kyle but I have to question using a driver to do commentary while hes racing.

As to I guess you would say OH GEE WALLY, WHAT WAS THAT? If you were all of a sudden blindly slammed into? Why not worry about your own life instead of what everyone else does. It's people like you that have screwed the entire world up. Stop trying to run the world, it's not yours. Just be glad your here and do the best with that you can.. Turn the sound off, you don't need it to watch the race anyway.

**** no they shouldn't be punished, TNT is a cable television channel, not public broadcast. Also, the stations should not be snooping in on stuff like that. Go screw off you over sensitive little cock head. Sue me now. Those radios are bought by the teams and are used for their communications, can you sue a trucker for saying what the **** over a citizens band (CB) radio. Hell I hear worse than that coming from shows on ABC these days.

I hope they don't fine anyone, but I am very surprised that Kyle would use that language. That is a very family oriented family and company. Remember that they don't race in the Busch Series because they don't condone adult beverages... Kyle might get in more trouble than NASCAR and TNT...

Yes, they should b fined @ least a 5 digit price.
Think about it. A cable channel is allowing the S**T word. Shouldn't they pay? Yes!

No. Cable networks should not be subect to the same rules as broadcast networks. People choose to have cable in their homes. If they don't like it, they can stop paying their bill.

they will not be fined because TNT is a cable network and the FCC can't fine a cable channel. if this happened on Fox, an FCC fine would had happened for them.

How did they know Kyle was going to drop the FBomb. I would have done the same thing if Kenseth pulled that crap.
