There's Pathology, the medical school course, and Pathology, the medical specialty.
All doctors study pathology in medical school. Some doctors pursue a career in pathology after medical school.
We all use our study of pathology (what we learned in med school) in treating patients, but pathologists have the specific task of examining tissue specimens, performing autopsies and managing labs and blood banks. They assist internists (and others) in diagnosing disease.
Hope that helps.

Pathology, among other things, looks at tissues, biopsies, and performs autopsies. Pathologists contribute to the diagnosis by examining tissues with a number of different techniques. Pathologists do not make rounds on patients at the bedside, nor do they have any clinic.
Internal medicine are the doctors you typically think of going to when you are sick or in the hospital. They also diagnosis diseases but they are the doctors that see the patient bedside and do the history and physical.
During the first two years of medical school, pathology and internal medicine are required areas of classroom study. For the last two years, internal medicine is a required clinical rotation (i.e. you are out of the classroom and seeing patients and being part of the care team). Pathology is most often not a required course but there are a lot of elective pathology rotations.
As for whether is it is a good match or not comes down to the personality of the medical student. They are different fields and attract different people. Most students choose what field they want to go into based upon their clinical rotations.

It depends on the context. An assistant vet can refer to a newly graduated vet who is learning from the more experienced practice vet. A veterinary technician is a veterinary nurse, and duties often include a wide variety of things, including running the reception, cleaning kennels, mopping the floor, cleaning the equipment, but also taking care of the animals and monitoring them during surgery. You would have to be prepared to do the menial tasks as well as helping with the animals. It largely depends on the size of the practice and the number of staff they employ, as to how much of the former you will be expected to do. An animal care specialist is not usually employed in a vet practice. They will have learnt a lot about the keeping and husbandry of animals, and will work with caring for animals in captivity, for example, zoo keepers.
