1gb. is enough but 2 gb is best, that also goes with any computer running Xp or Vista, or Mac OS X. the type of memry is determined by the type that will work with ur MB not a piece of software. i have used AutoCAD

u need like 500Gb is like 100 dollars on tigerdirect and also get some more memory like 1024 mb that is like 100 dollars,so is not that much and ur pc will be runing good and ready for any kind of work
