An adult needs to drink two liters or 0,07 cubic feet of water a day to be ok. That's 8 normal glasses of water a day.
A lot more water can get you effects similar to drink booze, like filling your stomach with water, like drinking too much water in the same time.
If you need a medical scan or similar feats for your urinary system you must drink a lot of water, but only enough to fill your bladder.
Really too much water can drown you, but you must drink first enough to fill your stomach and bladder. But only a few water in your lungs is enough to drown you.

Yes, this has happened to me, luckily I was trying to drink the water b/c I had to give a urine sample, so I was already at the doctor. However there are signs that you have had too much water. You actually feel drunk and you will vomit water. It happens usually when you haven't eaten. I believe that a young man died from his fraternity forcing him to chug water and he drowned.

define "too much". force drinking water can have adverse effects including death. Drinking too much bottled water, can result in chemical imbalance because most bottled water doesn't contain minerals or electrolytes that your body needs. Aside form that, having to go to the bathroom a lot, destended bladder etc. Remember the best way to tell of you are getting enough water, is for your urine to be clear. If it is yellow, you need more water, if it is clear, your fine. don't over do it.

As far as I know, yes.. If you drink too much without going to the bathroom, then your intestines get too filled up. You may have heard about the woman who took part in the "Hold Your Wee For A Wii" contest. (I'm not positive of the name or if the contest actually happened, but its a good example.) She had so much water in her body without going to the bathroom that her insides got 'drowned' so to speak. She died. If you're going to drink a lot of water, go to the bathroom.

A Californian woman died after taking part in a water-drinking contest.
Drinking too much water can cause your brain to swell, stopping it regulating vital functions such as breathing, and causing deaths.

You could flush out some of your electrolytes. This may cause cramping, leg cramping, diarrhea, vomiting, change in mental status, heart arrhythmia's which may lead to death. You have to drink quite alot of water, not just eight glasses. Good Luck.

Yes....but you would have to drink like a gallon in less than an hour.
If you drink reasonable amounts throughout the day, it is very healthy for you!
