Do you have to pay for those over priced CD markers? Can you use a regular permanent marker? What can you use to write on a CD/DVD?

I use a Bic Permanent marker or a Sharpie. They work perfectly and are always on sale at Staples. I have never had a problem with tem interfering with data.

I suggest using a specialised CD marker, this is due to the fact that some permanent markers have chemicals that may react with the CD over time. This reaction may take time to occur. I suggest that if your CD contains sensitive data, use a CD marker!

CD markers are not overpriced for nothing ;-)

I've always used regular permanent markers (Sharpie, etc.). They work well.
