believe me ive done one every year for 4 years and thats a reasonable lenght of time and plenty for them to do. if you can drag them off the bouncy castle for pass the parcel then good luck i say just stick to the bouncy castle and if you think there getting bord them get out the parcel children entertain themselves, sounds like a good party!!! have fun and relax!!!!

This is the right length of time for a party for a 4 year old. My daughter will be 4 soon also and I used to run a parent and toddler group. They will love the bouncy castle and pass the parcel is ideal for this age. You could maybe try musical bumps (the sit down when the music stops). Play some music throughout the party also, kids love to run around and dance. Leave the cake to near the end or cut it and give every one a bit home in a tissue. Prepare the food as a buffet an have everyone get a plate for their child, after they hav been running about or they will be sick. You will find the party will fly in and there will not be time to be bored. Good Luck. Elaine

I used to always worry about this but it will be fine, even if you didn't have the bouncy castle the time just flies by. Time is spent running around while guests are arriving, then it's time for food, then the games, then the candles on the cake etc and that's a party without a bouncy castle! Seriously the kids will be too busy on the bouncy castle to probably sit down for long! Hope the party goes well and your daughter has a wonderful time x

Bouncy castle parties are the in thing where I live (because the local sports hall put it on for you!) As well as the bouncy castle, they have a selection of ride ons and wee trikes (which will still suit kids up to about 8). This combo is fantastic, as all you have to do is call the kids over for their food and maybe do a game of pass the parcel to help it settle in their stomach after they've eaten it. It saves you feeling the pressure of having to be the entertainment! Maybe you could ask a few of your friends to bring a couple with them. Bouncy castle + bikes combo definitely fill 2 hours easily.

Children of this age get sometimes get bored if they play the same game twice, i think you need some more games. why not try musical chairs/bumps/statues or puddles and always remember to have a small sweeties or prizes for the children who are out it helps make it easier on everyone. do the same for pass the parcel wrap a consolation treat in each layer then you don't disappoint when they haven't reached the prize. leave the food until near the end but light the candles on the cake first and sing happy birthday so that when the children are eating you have time to cut the cake and wrap it for their party bags. We recently had a party and played a homemade version of hullabaloo where there was coloured shapes on the floor and everyone had to follow instructions like hop to a shape, fly to the next one, crawl to another, swim to a different shape and so on and then tell everyone to stop find a shape and say "anyone standing on a blue circle for example is out". it was really good and everyone had fun. face painting is always a hit at this age, if you can't do it yourself persuade a friend to do small patterns like a heart or butterfly on the girls and a star or football on the boys.

No they will not be bored. That bouncy castle will help pass the time for them. Most parties are more like 3hrs or in my family until they leave(lol). Yet if all you want is 2hrs. then go ahead it's your child's party. You can have it for however long you want. I know that after awhile you get exhausted and want the party to wind down. You sound as if you got the party planned already. I hope she has a good one.

The 2hrs will fly by - I would have a game of pass the parcel - the one where when the music stops you take of a wrapper - place a sweetie under each wrapper - 2 circles of 10 would be good if they're young ones. Pin the tail on the donkey is good too - you can get party games at Tescos or Asdas - very cheap.
Hope you have fun!!

omg..yes plenty to fill the time! If not to much! They will have a whale of time!

My niece had a party for two hours (same age) and all they had was an entertainer for 1/2 hour and food...oh and some music...they loved it and it went very quickly.

If it was more than 2 hours though, they would all be too tired. |So I think you have plenty for them to do...infact I quite fancy a bit of a cake myself!
