Atheists: What religion would you like your children to worship?

I have to take exception to your additional details - I know many Christians, Muslims, and Jews whom I would consider great parents, who are bringing their kids up in their faith. I really don't think that raising your kids in your own faith is a bad thing.

My mother, against the wishes of her grandmother, didn't have my sister or myself baptized or raised in any faith, and I'm glad. It sort of forced us to think and decide for ourselves what we believed to be true. When I have kids, I'll do the same for them, and encourage them to look for their own truths.

It's my child's soul and mind, not mine. Even though I am an atheist, I believe that the concept of God is very personal and that people have the right to determine that relationship for themselves.

While I would prefer my children grow up to be atheists, I am unable to and will not interfere with any choice they make about their relationship with a higher power.

My children are free to choose a religious belief of their own..

All I ask is that they do research and learn about a variety of beliefs before settling on one, I believe they will gain a better perspective on a belief they choose if they know at least a little something about other beliefs...

None UNTIL they are adults and can make such a decision for themselves. At that time they're welcome to beleive whatever they want.

Because I don't believe in gods, doesn't mean others should disbelieve as well. I would hope they'd find their own beliefs.
