What's the rush? Get to know your kitten first. Maybe it has character traits which tell you what to call it. I've had a jet black cat called Dorby since he was a tiny kitten. He's called that because my little boy couldn't spell "Adorable" when we all put names in a hat! He wrote "Doorbell" which we shortened to Dorby once we'd stopped laughing!! Dorby is and was still adorable!

we bought a kitten for my daughter when she was three .
the kitten was black with a little splash of white on her nose and white paws.we came up with the name Minstrel (named after the Black and White Minstrels, they were a band of singers on the telly in the 60's they were all white guys made up to look black).
she kept the name Minstrel to the day she died at the grand old age of 18 and a half.
my daughter is now all grown up and has two cats one called Maynard and the other is called Taz after the cartoon character the Tazmanian Devil who was always getting into trouble .
i now have twin siamese cats called Casper and Gizmo.
if you are stuck for names all you have to do is go on the internet and use your search engine and type in "cat's names" and you will get loads of websites with names on.

Ebony and Onyx are pretty names. You may want to wait until you see the kitten to choose a name, though - cats have very strong personalities, and need names to match! It's the norm to name cats after their appearance, but you can have lots of fun with choosing their moniker. One suggestion: try naming them after someone famous who has the same sort of personality that they do, or after a character in a movie. Have fun with your new kitty! :)

Ashton :: like 'ash', kinda gray to black
Victoria :: after Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, died, she wore black everyday in mourning until she died (a bit over 59 years later)
Nicole :: like with coal, being black
Sydney :: the 'sid' sound is reminescent of the word 'obsidian', a natural black glass formed as a volcanic rock
Raven :: raven = black bird, no stretch of the imagination (though a cat being named after a bird is a tad odd)
Jasmine :: referencing Princess Jasmine, who had long black hair
Ebony :: "a hard, heavy, durable wood, most highly prized when black; a deep, lustrous black" (Dictionary.com), also once used for the black piano keys

We have a little black cat and we named her Pandora, she has lived up to the name by being a big box of mischief ! Also Ringo (with rings on tail), Flash Cat, cause he's quick as a flash, Puddin Kitty and Fraidy Cat.

miso: which means kitty in Spanish and also the soup.
fairy
sombra: shadow in Spanish.
noche: night.
Pepa: (somebody suggested Pepe, but that's masculine).
picara: Witt and mischief.
mona: cute (also means female monkey) .
linda: pretty
sol: sun
the best thing you can do it is to wait till you get the cat, So you give her a name that matches her personality.
Congratulations and long live to you and your kitty.
