It seems to be all I wanna listen to recently.... depressing/angry rock and metal songs. I normally like this type of music and all.. But recently words in the songs have hit me, and made me think about things that put me into a bummed mood.

I'd love any suggestions you have.... maybe specific upbeat songs (but no-thanks to sappy love songs!), or maybe just some THING I can listen to... through an online source or wherever...

I am doing things like studying for an exam and cleaning up the house... I would just turn of the depressing stuff, but I HATE sitting in complete silence, but at the same time... I have ADHD, so something like a TV channel or movie can easily break my concentration!!!

If you're looking for cheerful music, try Dixieland Jazz. Swing jazz is also cheerful, often witty and sometimes sexy. Frank Sinatra sang many beautiful songs. Folk music by Joan Baez, Judy Collins and Bob Dylan is great stuff. Joni Mitchell is wonderful. Weird Al Yankovich is very very funny. And you can't beat the Beatles!

No heavy beat music unless you are doing a goal directed activity like lifting weights or cleaning something.
No lyrics that might lead you to feel one way or another.
The best bet is instrumental music - classical for example. The music will be helpful to your brain. You are obsessed with your feelings. Don't listen to things that stir those up.

You can't beat 80's and 90's pop! If you want something to cheer you up, put in some Wham!, 'NSYNC, Vanilla Ice, anything like that. It's so corny and upbeat that you can't help but be in a good mood!

When I need gentle sounds I listen to dolphin or whale song or the sounds of water....waterfalls, babbling brook etc. bird song.

I find it relaxing and really clears the mind and boosts the 'good' feeling.

get back to the classical jamz! try listneing to Mozart's Requiem. It was his final opera and it is the most epic piece of art ever. the first 1/2 of the opera has the most amazing pieces. and you will become thoroughly inspired.
