How does this film glorify God? Why is this film supported by most of the Christian radio stations? God gave us the rainbow as a sign that He will never flood the earth again. Movies like this just confuse people and mix in some false beliefs with the truth.

Please Patiently read: believers in Christ.

*As a Born Again believer who lives for Jesus Christ as LORD{Master), here is a
Scripture I use as a guideline:

"Whatever you do, in word or deed - do 'ALL' in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ, giving Thanks through HIM to God the Father." *Col. 3:17-for it is written.

In the past there was a bumper sticker{and it is probably still around) which said:
"What Would Jesus Do ?" or W.W.J.D. ?

It's best if committed Believers use Col. 3:17 AND also W.W.J.D. as the determining factors for choosing all we say and do.

The Born Again Christian life is a disciplined
way of living because we represent Jesus Christ-Himself - here on earth. *We are the BODY of CHRIST.

*Am not trying to point a guilty finger at Christians for anything we do. Only, I am the one responsible for my Walk with God, as you all are responsible for your walk with Christ. **Some ask me why I never drink a sip of wine or any type of alcohol. Simply because I do not see Jesus as having ever drank alcohol - for all He did, He did to the Glory of God the Father! And if I pick up a glass of wine {or any type of alcohol) can I honestly say to myself & to God: "I drink this glass of wine, in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ, giving Thanks through HIM to God the Father ?" And know I am doing the righteous thing before God ? *When I accepted Jesus as Savior and LORD, my life at that point my life was no longer my own - it was bought with a price- the Blood of Jesus. And God's WORD says: I am {from now on) to Glorify God the Holy Spirit in my Body. *I'd rather allow the Holy Spirit to stimulate me {rather than alcohol) and allow HIM to control me {rather than alcohol to influence or control my thinking). *God has shown me that alcohol is "of" the world {believers are "in" the world and not "of" it) and alcohol "is" an act of the flesh{the old carnal nature). If I walk by the [Holy] Spirit by faith, I will not fulfill the desires/cravings of the flesh {ie: alcohol, immorality in my thoughts, lieing, etc.).

Concerning the movie: Would have to ask myself - does seeing this glorify God ?
Will using my time - to see this movie really glorify God the Father ? *"Am I truly being Led/Guided by the Holy Spirit to see this movie{whatever the movie may be - at a theatre or to rent to watch at home) or is it a decision based on what I desire to do to please myself ?" *I choose not see Evan Almighty primarily because I have not been led or Guided by the Holy Spirit of God to see it. *God encourages me daily to be Led by the Spirit of God because then the Father can give me His Best in Life- as I humbly allow the Holy Spirit to lead/guide me. Are you familiar with Deut. 30 where GOD says that we are to choose LIFE {to me that means Jesus-the Way, Truth & the LIFE), so that we may love the LORD our GOD, & "so that we may Obey His Voice" {Holy Spirit) &So that we mayCling/Depend on Him {no more "i"ndependence; now humble dependence on the WORD of God-Jesus-the WORD that became flesh) ?
-I honestly am no one special and I do not know the Word of God w/excellence {that would take an eternity to do so). Am simply a child of God who only wishes to please my Father - Abba, Father. Want to make HIM Happy in the relationship I have with Him, for He makes me so happy in the relationship He has with me. *He is always so faithful - watching over His WORD to perform it in my life.

God challenges me -moment by moment - each & every day to ask myself: "Is Jesus Christ -the WORD of God- 'LORD{in control) of my thought-life ? **GOD encourages me, disciplines me, and guides/leads me daily in two ways:
1) With HIS Holy WORD/bible
2) By the Holy Spirit, the Comforter-the Spirit of Truth {Jn. 14:16-17;"26"

IF I choose to think, say and do something out of my own selfish desires{the flesh) then HE always Humbles me. But if I {by His GRACE through faith) choose to daily humble myself before HIM and His Holy WORD, then He exalts me. The exaltation is not because I am worthy or deserve it - it is cause of HIS Grace{His unconditional Love). *Am learning that when HE humbles me {I am put into a state of utter Humiliation) in order to dethrone "self" {Pride), which exalts itself in my mind, over the knowledge of God/the WORD. *Would rather humble myself before GOD in every decision in life {in thoughts, words, deeds-[actions & reactions] - in order for the Holy Spirit of God to encourage and lead/Guide me in Life. *Jesus Christ is LORD and it is best for me to allow His Holy Spirit to lead me, rather than my flesh to lead me. For me, to be carnally-minded is death;but to Spiritually{Holy Spirit & Word of GOD) minded is LIFE and PEACE.

*Am no one special AND I am not perfect; just forgiven/cleansed from all sin by the shed Blood of Jesus Christ {the Cross) and am learning to be Spirit-led in life for Christ Jesus.

*"Jesus-the WORD of God- 'is' LORD !"

Either a movie is about God or it is not about God at all. When a movie is so called about God, and it gives a fictional account of things, that is sheer blshpmey, an dused to be all Christians would agree on that. But, today its anything goes with most ppl, even so many in church. When you are receing som e truth and some error, then it is still not truth. Cuz full truth is only truth. Half truth, half lie is still a lie. Light and darkness done mix. Great question, and I hope and pray you make ppl think.

I agree. Does it glorify God, or the world's view of God? There were some things that they said in Bruce Almighty that were true, but then there were also some sacreligious parts too. Would you eat a brownie with only a little bit of poop in it? I have to say I don't trust how the devil can add subtle lies into something that seems totally harmless. I think I am going to stay away from Evan Almighty this time, even though on the surface it may seem docile. There is nothing wrong with guarding your heart too closely.

Well, seing as how the film is based upon the story of Noah, and Noah was a Jew I think Jews would be more offended than Christians, however, Jews star in/made the move. It's like a cartoon version of any Bible story, if it gets kids interested, why not.

I saw it last night, and I didn't think it was making fun of God, or Christianity. It is actually pretty funny in parts. You have to see it for yourself to judge that. It isn't how you think it will be about flooding the earth. I don't want to tell you more, in case you go see it. It was done in good taste.

I saw Bruce Almighty and thought it was pretty funny. So did my mother. While the flood thing concerns me - I'm going to go see the movie anyway just to see what it's about.

The name of the movie is blasphemy (third commandment) - it's wrong to portray God by images (second commandment), and the movie also teaches a local flood.

It's not all that funny. I doesn't make fun of religion but it's not realistic. It was supposed to be a comic but it failed miserably in my opinion. I believe it will be OK for the family not something to take seriously. It has nothing to do with Christianity.

false beliefs with truth? You do realize that the rainbow is not copyrighted by christianity, there were rainbows before christianity was introduced, and there is conclusive evidence that a worldwide flood did not happen. Don't take noah literally kid.

I haven't seen it but my parents (both pastors) say it's great for the whole family and even my pastor mentioned this morning that it's a good movie worth seeing.
