I am a natural blonde, but due to trying out different hair colors through the years I am a much darker blonde. Recently, my roots were showing through so I tried to re-dye it an ash blonde. Unfortunately, the dye turned my hair a platinum/grayish/blonde. So I went to Sally's, and they sold me toner to use, which in turn made my hair a darker brownish/grayish/blondish. So I've given it a week or so, and been out in the sun & now my hair is at least a normal color, but its too dark. What is the proper way to go about lightening my hair back to blonde, without going to a stylist or turning it gray? Thank you!

Use "blond shampoo" and sun -in or lemon juice 2x a week. Blond hair is infamously fragile so over processing burns it out. By using shampoo/conditioner formulated for blond you will strengthen the follicle (I know it's dead but it doesn't need to be brittle). Sun in is a light peroxide that treats to sun light or a blow dryer to gradually lighten natural blond tones as does lemon juice - these products are far gentler and will produce longer lasting results than an over all dye job. Good Luck!

Well, first let me tell you that doing your eyebrows is not a good idea, if any gets into your eyes you could become blind!! As for the roots, expect every 3-6 weeks, depending on the rate of your hair growth. Once you start the coloring thing, you will find your hair can get very dry and need to take extra care to keep it in good condition. I have colored by hair for years, and it is a pain...Go to a professional salon and get opinions before you do anything.

You should wash it, then dry it. Then you should go out and buy a blonde dye that would look nice on you. Ask a relative or if you could do it yourself, dye your hair. You could also bleach it in the sun by putting lemon juice on your hair. Hope that helped! (:

I used a home bleach kit, manic panic's 'virgin snow' cream toner, and a friend to bleach the parts I couldn't see, to get my hair this blonde-
