You're right, if he did they will probably cover it up. As for adultery in the Mormon church this isn't at all new. Just look at Joseph Smith and Brigham young. They both committed adultery many times and the church always hides under a bush when you mention that fact!

hmm, Interesting question..too bad it doesnt make any sense! what kind of question is that? One of the church's commandments is : "Thy shalt not commit adultery". As mormons we try to follow the commandments as best as we can. Do you really think the prophet would still be our prophet today if he committed such a crime? Of course not! The lord wouldn't let him be a Prophet if he had done such a sin. President Gordon B Hinkley isnt perfect but if he committed sin he WOULDNT encourage us to follow him and he WOULDNT be proud of it either. So to answer your question; this could never happen because, hey look he's still our Prophet at this very moment! and he doesn't encourage sinful behaviour so we would NOT follow that example.

That doesn't matter, cause he wouldn't. God would not call an ordained prophet to be the leader of his church if he were gay, or if he would even cheat on his wife.

Hmm, well the guy is 97, I think if he hasn't come out by now, he's not going to. I see what you're saying though. It would give anti-mormons something new to talk about, and it would give LDS one more thing to cover up. They would probably just ignore it. The same way catholics would ignore it if the Pope came out as being gay. There's a chance he might be excommunicated but I doubt it. They would probably just cover it up, wait until the guy kicks the bucket( it's gotta happen pretty soon anyway) get a new prophet, and pretend like the whole thing never happened

Would have been rather hard for him to do something like that. Besides, if he had and had not repented, the Lord would never have allowed him to be prophet.

I watch The god makers2 . Which witnesses stated that he did these things. a person that did the research on the case. who was lds. was excommunicated for his findings.
So the Mormon church would hide and cover up the actions of their prophets.

I would bet that the church would believe him, forgive him since he obviously repented, and then continue to demonize gays and lesbians with an even greater horror.
Ya gotta love these saints....

Well, they followed Joseph Smith when he declared that polygamy (adultery) was ok. SO I guess they would follow him if he said homosexuality was ordained of God.
