Why isn't it the same for men?

Why is it that a woman can tell a man whom is interested in her that she would like to "just be friends" but if the situation is reversed and a man says it to a woman he is looked upon as a jerk? What's wrong with this picture?

We are the females victims.We are the bad guys in the movie.We have to suffer because females are the innocent creatures and we are the villains.That is a fact.Very unfair,but a fact.Nothing we can do about it.We have to carry the cross for ever.

I don't think that's true at all. Men and women can both say that. It's all about the approach.
