Hey Banlo! Break out the tape recorder, and get a book News paper, or comic book,or poetry book, use different reading materials each day, and begin reading it into the mic in your normal voice. Listen back to it.This will be how others hear you speak. Listen to the letters, and vowels (A,E,I,O,U, and sometimes Y) that you habitually mumble on. Then put more breath force into those weaker sounds, and take time DECISIVELY moving you lips, overly dramatize on your weak areas into the mic, and listen back to yourself until you sound precise, crisp, and clear to yourself. KEEP PRACTICING every day at least 20 to 30 min. until you hardly have to think about it, because you've done it so much. Then when your not on the mic. and are talking in a normal conversation, it will begin to flow almost naturally. Always take your time. and be direct and on purpose when you move your lips, in that dramatic practiced way, as if you were trying to teach a child yourself. In a short time, you will begin to find that the over dramatic practice, has lighten into a clear normal yet defendant and understandable use of words, sentences, and phrases. Poetry and songs,( singing)since different styles demand different pronunciations of words, you gain a lot of expertise in HEARING as well as MIMICKING the style sounds. These are GREAT helps as well! use them all! And soon you'll be on the nightly news my friend, making a 6 figure salary (but only if you want to!) This will really help Banlo, Have A Great Day!

Practice.... "The rain in Spain falls manly on the plane." Seriously.... that's what people like actors will do... singing could also help with breath control and enunciation. Pay attention to the way words *should* be pronounced... If you got the money get a voice coach...

I'm glad you posted your question because this is something I, too, have been thinking about.
Recently I have gotten into audiobooks, thus the first thing that occurred to me this morning was to google and find something on the subject.
First of all, the kind of expert we are looking for is commonly called a "voice coach" these days. You can hire one to work with you personally or, as I imagined, many have published their own audiobook lessons.
Here's a list of what I discovered. I haven't decided which audiobook I will purchase or if I might even try to find someone locally. Let me know which direction you choose and how you make out.
Here's a sampling of what I found:

I recommend you tell the police, or if that seems too huge then tell a education councilor. be certain you are attempting this earlier you tell your buddy or confront the boys, through fact the ought to declare something to dissuade you. you could inform somebody. stay faraway from those losers to any extent further. Try to speak each word clearly. Maybe the people who say this mean you slur words or speak too fast. Slow down a little and try to talk clearly.
Good luck!

Put clean marbles in your mouth and practice speaking with them. See if you can get to the point where others can understand you. It's an old trick.
