My persian cat does that too! He does that also on my wicker baskets. Cute but weird. But I've researched on this and they all say it's not good for cats to do these things. Just read up on the sources below.

Some cats like the taste and smell of plastic but this is dangerous as it can cause a severe blockage so you will need to make sure all plastic bags are picked up and put away. Wrapping curling ribbon is another hazard. I had a cat that would hunt it down and had to ban it from all wrapped gifts as she had to see the vet three times for this and it wasn't cheap. Your cat has a quirk that may be hard to break as far as hiding or moving food. You may want to try a different shape of feeding bowl. Stainless steel is best.As far as licking your chin and biting this is a combination of two things. The cat licks the salt from your skin and most likely also is giving you little kissed. Your cat tends to sleep on your things because you are that special person in the house who he loves the most and this is just another way of staying close to you. Sometimes these habits are bothersome but look at it in a positive way. Your cat loves you and thinks that you are just about the best thing on earth.

I read an article (and after an exhaustive search, am unable to relocate) that said that animal fat is sometimes used to thinly coat the outside of plastic bags, causing them not to stick together as much. Whether or not this is completely true, I am uncertain, though I do know that plastic bag manufacturers often use animal fat in production. It sure would explain why cats love playing and licking bags.
It could also be due to a sweet taste due to the chemicals used. Cats will often lick photographic paper, because of the sweet taste due to the chemicals used. And much like the sweet taste of antifreeze... can have dire consequences. Be careful your cat doesn't eat the plastic. Just to be safe, maybe switch to paper bags for your cat to play in, I know mine love them!

cant really say.kittys are funny.no two are exactly alike, kinda like people. maybe its what was in the plastic bags, mine likes paper,be it newspaper, bills,an open book. who knows. however chewing on it is very dangerous.they can and will suffocate, same as babies. when i got my kitten who is now 7 1/2 years old, i researched alot of things and one book told you to get on your belly on the floor and look at the world through your cats eyes. amazing dangers lurked EVERYWHERE to my disbelief.dangling electric cords if chewed on simply because they are there and can be a toy for a cats eye, can seriously burn your cats mouth as well as electrocute them.plastic can choke and suffocate them.little beads, paper clips etc. thread that you use for sewing? I SAW PHOTOS OF HOW A CAT GOT IT TWIRLED AROUND HIS TONGUE, LIKE A KID WOULD WRAP IT AROUND ITS FINGER AND GET THE CIRCULATION CUT OFF AND THIS HAPPENED TO ITS TONGUE AND PART OF ITS TONGUE HAD TO BE AMPUTATED.there has been instances surgery was necessary to remove a needle and thread form a kitties little insides. they are worse than babies because babyproofing is keeping things out of babies reach.cats can jump high and anywhere their curiosity takes them.hope you do what i said and make a safe place for the kitty i am sure you love.good luck and many years of happiness.cats are very loving pets.

My cat also loves plastic bags, and it's quite a chore keeping him away from them! My previous cat also loved them. I think it has something to do with the feel of them and the sound they make - a lot of cat toys make the same "crinkly" noise. Be careful with the bags - they can be hazardous to pets.

There's something in them (can't remember) that cats are sometimes attracted to but do NOT let them chew on them or lick them! They could get really sick.

My one cat likes plastic also. Have no idea why. Probably just their personality. All cats are different.

It may be hungry... are you feeding it well? Or it could just like to munch on things... or just likes to play with plastic bags
