It's not abnormal. It's probably statistically unusual but not unusual in a psychological sense. It just happens to be a preference you have; much like I'm sure you prefer a certain eye color to another. I would guess there's some other motivation behind it which you may not even be aware of though. Usually women attracted to older men say they are so because the older men are more mature, more stable financially or emotionally or some other reason along those lines. That may or may not apply to you though. Either way, like I said, it's not strange or weird.

However, if you're planning to date a much older guy, obviously you should wait another year until you're 18. Other than that, I say go for it. Also be aware that many guys that age are entering a period where they may want children. If you don't want children right away then it could be a source of conflict between the two of you.

Judging by all the other questions I've seen lately, it seems to be pretty popular. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from older men. You are too young to waste your time on them. Enjoy the young ones while you can. lol
And yes, 30 is way to old for a 17 year old. They will simply be using you

Not normal, unless things between you dad and you were not normal. 17 is jail bait for any man...please don't lure anyone to your bed until you are of age!!!! Please don't lie about your age. It is really hard to tell these days as it is.

On the flip side, there are lots of woman(and men) attracted to older partners.Happened to me when I was 19. This beautiful woman invited me to her apartment one day. I wish to god I'd taken her up on it. But, darn, I had just started dating this girl, and that was that!!
