And how is it different from a regular Catholic funeral Mass? (My great-aunt, a Franciscan nun, passed away last night, hence this question.)

Just about the same any for any Catholic.

A Catholic funeral is broken into three parts.

The Vigil. This used to be called the Rosary. The night before the Requiem Mass, a prayer service is celebrated. Eulogies and/or the rosary may also be said at this time. The Irish culture call this a wake. A reception with food may follow.

The Requiem Mass. A full Mass with Scripture read and explained and Eucharist (Holy Communion) received with extra funeral prayers.

The Burial. A short final prayer service at graveside. A reception at someone's home with food may follow.

With love in Christ.

Considering the fact that Pope John Paul II's Mass was the same one any Catholic would receive, your great-aunt should receive the same.

The Franciscans may have a few of their own traditions, but the Mass should be a standard Catholic funeral Mass.

I dont think it is much different other than a ton of priests might con-celebrate the Mass. It will certainly be a huge affair. Many more religious and clergy than what is seen normally and probably a bigger choir and such but, basically the same Mass. The Liturgy doesn't change that much.
