It's 5.43am here in Sydney Australia and the temp is about 8 degrees Celsius, about 40 % Fahrenheit. We are in the first month of winter and at the moment, getting plenty of rain. All of Australia has been in a severe drought for the last 6 or 7 years, so we hope the rain we are getting at the moment will break the drought. Our spring time commences on the 1st of September.

Australia is a big place, bigger than the USA, and temperatures range from warm in the tropical north to very cold at the ski resorts in the snow. Some areas are getting rain while others are having beautiful weather. It is approaching 7am in eastern Australia and 5am in the west.
All of Australia has not been in drought for six or seven years although parts have been in drought for three or four years with some areas perhaps longer. Some parts of Australia have not been in drought at all. There is a lot of exaggeration in the media.

Cold in Perth at lunchtime - probably about 18 degrees. A little rain but not much - and lets face it, we don't really ever get enough rain here.
Still, I have lived through winter in Europe and America in and comparted to those places, our cold isn't really THAT cold!
