The silver ring thing is a ring you wear to remind you of a promise you make to God to remain sexually abstinent and completely ignorant of all sex education, condoms etc.

The correct person to ask this is the one you get the Silver Ring Thingy from. Because we are just a bunch of strangers, why would you believe in what we say?

Anything done to excess is a problem.

Masturbation by itself is not a problem, but for many men they become so focused on porn and masturbation that they stop bothering to maintain a relationship. Many wives find themselves uncomfortabley sitting on the fence: No, there is nothing wrong with masturbation, but how does a real woman compete with unnatural, ageless, fantasy women who do not "exist" in the real world.

Like the danger of coveting (obsessing over what someone else has) or even worse an affair, it can be easy for a man to forget that the "low maintenance" fun of masturbation can cause him to have unrealistic ideas about real women.

ADD: Many Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Catholicism, Judaism, Islam, etc.) consider masturbation dangerous ground if not a minor sin. The main problem again is coveting: who do you think about when you masturbate, and is that fair to the women, your desires, and your god? Islam says that masturbation is OK as long as you do NOT picture real women that you know. Catholicism sees it as coveting even if it is a stranger. Protestantism sees it as OK as long as it is not obsessive. Jewish law sees it as disliked but not a sin, but there is a story of someone being struck dead, not for masturbating, but for lying to god about his coveting of women he knew.

Yes, whats the 'silver ring thing'? Sexual intercouse happens between 2 people though not unilaterally! Masterbation is time spent with yourself and no other, how can it possibly affect your purity??

Whats the silver ring thing?

I guess so but you might feel a bit guilty after.
I don't see why it's such a big thing. Is it that important for you to masturbate? Wouldn't it be nicer for you to experience pleasure like that from the woman you marry only? Make it a bit more special (:

By "silver ring thing" do you mean a purity ring? If a purity ring is an issue, I'm sure masturbation isn't a problem, as it isn't actual intercourse.

I don't wear one, but I'm assuming that a ring can't physically stop somebody from masterbating.

Cheating who? Or better... who are you 'cheating' with?
