Opthalmologist is the person who would like to see you.

Hi, Pat. I would at least call your eye doctor, and he will probably want to see you. Last night, I actually scratched my eye with the tip of an eyedropper...and I know it hurt like the dickins, and my eye is a little red.

I called my PRK surgeon (I'm just about 1-1/2 weeks out) and he gave me a couple of options to try. He said it didn't sound serious, but that if it was still bothering me when I got up this morning, to call him back and he'd see me.

There aren't any "cornea fluids"...there is fluid in the anterior chamber BEHIND the cornea...but you would definitely know and have serious pain if you entered either the anterior chamber or the back of your eye.

My PRK surgeon told me that the cornea heals very quickly compared to other parts of the body. I would give your eye doctor a call, tell him what happened, and be sure to mention that there was a little blood (that's the part that I didn't have...and what concerns me about your situation the most). Pus is white blood cells that congregate together to help fight an infection. Do what your personal eye doctor suggests...if he wants to see you, do go in. If he doesn't think it's serious, then I would still make an appointment to get in on Monday if it is still bothering you.

In the meantime, use some artificial tears, keep your eyes closed as much as you can...the irritation will be less...and even try a cold pack, but do at least make the phone call...I'm not an eye doctor, but did the dummy stick myself in the eye last night and did call.

if you are saying that your actual eyeball was bleeding, you should go to the doctor asap. a bleeding eye is a very bad thing! you probably have an infection and left untreated you could develop some serious corneal problems and possibly even loose vision permanetly. if the broom cut your eye image all the germs and bacteria that have gotten in the eye from the broom. you will need antibiotic drops...

It's nothing 99% fine ,but still one percent to exclude by an eye doctor [ you may have a fungal infection that will appear in a couple of weeks and will be very hard to treat ]

the fact that it was scratched to the point of bleeding and you woke up with pus in the corner, i'd say it's infected. probably was the cornea and you should see an opthamologist.
