There are many different names of God. They are all used to describe different aspects of Him and His personality. Actually I have been doing an in depth study of the names of God. Here are some:
Elohim: God as Creator
El Elyon: God most High
El Roi: The God who Sees
El Shaddai: The All- Sufficient One
Adonai: Lord and Master
Jehovah: The Self- Existent One
Jehovah-Jireh: The LORD will provide
Jehovah-Rapha: The LORD who heals
Jehovah- Nissi: The LORD is my Banner
Jehovah-Mekoddishkem: The LORD who sanctifies you
Jehovah-Shalom: The LORD is peace
Jehovah- Sabaoth: The LORD of Hosts
Jehovah-Raah: The LORD my Shepherd
Actually there was no "J" in biblical times so the actual spelling of it is Yehovah (yeh ho vaw). Another name that is the same as Jehovah is Yahweh.
YHWH<--------This is called the tetragrammaton.
Now in the bible you will not see Jehovah or Yahweh. What you WILL see is that sometimes the word Lord is in all capital letters: LORD.
This is because back when they were writing the bible Jehovah, or Yahweh was considered to Holy to write. When they did write it they had to properly cleanse themselves first. Then they had to use a pen that had never been used before. And then they had to cleanse themselves after writing it. Well they certianly couldn't go through all that when writing the religious texts of the bible! They'd spend most of the time cleansing! LOL! So what they did was decide that when they needed to write Jehovah or Yahweh they would write Lord in all capitals LORD to distinguish it as Jehovah. So in the bible next time you see LORD you will know that that is meant as Jehovah or Yahweh.

God and Goddess are known by Many different names and worship in Many different ways. Look at it this way, There are over 5 Billion people on the Earth at this moment. No two of them is exactly alike. Therefore no TWO of them has the very same realationship with the Creator, as well. That is why there are SO many different names for Creator and so many different ways of worshipping as well. Just because one person's way is not the way you worship does NOT make the other's wrong. Only different. WE, as the Human Species on this world HAVE to recognize that everyone IS different, and learn to celebrate those differences rather than use those differences as an exucse to hate, belittle and condemn each other.
