She goes crazy and jumps on the person. She sometimes even pees on their shoes if she gets to exited. It's really gross!

I had a dog once. I named him Cigarette. He didn't have any legs so I didn't have that problem. I always had to take Cigarette out for a drag. He died though because he was always laying around on his butt. Poor Cigarette.

First off, never hit your dog or do anything to hurt her in any way. You can train her to not jump and it may stop her from urinating when she's excited. If she does urinate, never rub her nose in it. Teach her a solid sit and stay. Once she's mastered that, you can move onto the next step. Put a leash on her and have someone walk in the door. When she jumps up, firmly say no, and give a gentle but effective tug on the leash to get her on the ground. Tell her to sit and stay. When she keeps her bottom on the ground, praise her and give her a treat. If she tries to get up to jump on the person, again correct her and give her the sit, stay commands. If she just gets up to say hi, that's alright unless you'd prefer to keep her in a sit until your guests are completely in the house. If so, tell her to sit until your guest walks in the house and past her. Be patient with her because I'm sure that she's very smart and can learn quickly. Don't yell at her when she does something wrong. Just show her what's right and praise when she does it. Good luck!

Keep the dog on a lead and get people to come to your door. Get something you can spray water on him with to and give this to the people on the outside of the door. When he jumps up at them control him with the lead and get him to sit. If he jumps get the people to spray him to the face with the water. When he sits down then praise him and if possible give him a treat.

When he jumps don't shout/say anything at him, just let him get sprayed. Shouting is still a reaction and some dogs take any verbal reaction as praise.

Only let people coming in stroke him or speak with him when he's sitting down. Again some people give the dog attention in the hope that he'll calm down. This is basically praising the dog for wrong behaviour.

A weekend of regular training for the dog should get this to stop.

follow her to the person quickly and grab her collar and use a FIRM and simple "NO"

squat down and hold her collar tight in a sitting postition and you will just have to practice cause dogs learn by remembering what happens when they do something. And some dogs will learn faster than others of course.

and have dog treats ready something reeeeeeeeeeeally goodd :)) The first time she doesn't jump up, very quickly feed her and she will associate the calmness with the treat and you being happy eventually.

also ask your guests not to pet her for a second while she calms down. Just say you are training her.
because if they do it will take longer to train her because she will consider their excitement as a reward for jumping too :))

My five month puppy use to do the exact same thing. I'm going to tell you how to stop this in two seperate steps.

~Jumping~

Whenever your dog goes to jump on you are someone, say say her name and tell her to "Sit Girl!". After she has done it reward her with a treat. After a while when she won'ts your attention she will sit in front of you, instead of jumping.

~Meeting Strangers/Peeing~

(Have some arranged visits every other day.) When a visitor is coming and they knock and/or ring the doorbell tell her to sit. If she will not stay still put her on a leash. After she is controlled tell her to sit again. When she is finally calm and sitting down, tell your guest to come in.

If she gets happy again. You tell her to sit untill she does. When she finally is calm again allow your guests to approach her. If she gets too excited repeat the steps again.

After awhile she should catch on so when you have a guest come over unknowingly she will sit and wait her turn to be greeted.

Hope this helps!

PS: Also tell your guests to ignore her as if she is not there untill she is calm.

First step is to make sure that your dog really knows the sit command. Second step is practice this. When ever the dog jumps you turn your back to him and say "Sit". Your dog will realize after 15-20 times that if he sits when someone comes in he will get positive attention instead of getting in trouble.

This really does work you just have to be consistent.

Good luck!

for a start do not hit the dog as you will damage his trust. if he jumps at you simply put your knee up or turn your back on him. when you answer the door firmly point at the dog and say down in an authoritive voice and make him sit and stay if he stays like this praise him up for his efforts, however if he doesnt just pull him down and repeat the excersise. if he walks away this is a good sign as ity shows he is accepting the intrusion into huis territory and is making space for the visitor. we had the same problem with our dog and hes fine now.

Here's what I've done. My dog is a chihuahua mix, and barks all the time and used to jump on people when the walked in my door. I used whatever kind of paper I had lying around and would scold her and rattle the paper, I've never had to hit her with the paper. I can rattle a receipt to this day, and she still runs and hides.

I saw this on Opera once.
Get a friend to come in. Have the dog on a leash.
Pull back on the dog when the friend approaches and make her sit. Then tell her she is a good girl.
I think you have to do this for a while and then try it off lead.
Reward her when her behavior is good.

Maybe you can find an old episode on the link that tells how to deal with this issue.

Many people find this very useful:
Put coins in a can. Each time your dog tries to jump on someone, shake the can so it will make a noise and distract your dog. Then say "NO" in a firm voice. Each time she obeys your command, give her a treat. She will learn in time that if she obeys your command, she gets a reward.
