Do this. Ask your date if you can sit next to her instead. You don't know her Grandmom well enough to sit next to her yet.

Remeber if you truly like this girl, no funny stuff under the stable. Understand? She's bringing her Grandmom along for her to check you out and make sure you are good enough to date granddaughter. You want to make a good impression and not scare off your date or her GrandMom. You don't want to come off like jerk and blow this date or you'll be going home by yourself real quick. Be a good gentleman to your date. Open her car doors and doors too, pull out her chair before she sits down. Chilvary isn't dead and neither are you. Bring your date little stuffed animal or some small flowers too. Women love that stuff and it never fails. It doesn't have to be all showy, fancy and all. Just be nice guy and treat her right. Be polite and respectful. It will score you big points in the long run, trust me! =)

You and the girl sit on the same side.
This is a red flag.
Get away.
Ask her is just you two can go out.
Your first date is not the time to meet the family.

Depending on where you are going and the table layout...sit between both of them! Or site across from them so you can look at both of them and always make eye contact. Good Luck!
