Are you not a triune being yourself? You have a body, a spirit and a soul.
The doctrine of the Trinity is encapsulated in Matthew 28:19, where Jesus instructs the apostles: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
The parallelism of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit is not unique to Matthew’s Gospel, but appears elsewhere in the New Testament (e.g., 2 Cor. 13:14, Heb. 9:14), as well as in the writings of the earliest Christians, who clearly understood them in the sense that we do today—that the Father, the Son, and the Spirit are three divine persons who are one divine being (God).
The Didache
"After the foregoing instructions, baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living [running] water. . . . If you have neither, pour water three times on the head, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" (Didache 7:1 [A.D. 70]).
Ignatius of Antioch
"[T]o the Church at Ephesus in Asia . . . chosen through true suffering by the will of the Father in Jesus Christ our God" (Letter to the Ephesians 1 [A.D. 110]).
"For our God, Jesus Christ, was conceived by Mary in accord with God’s plan: of the seed of David, it is true, but also of the Holy Spirit" (ibid., 18:2).
Justin Martyr
"We will prove that we worship him reasonably; for we have learned that he is the Son of the true God himself, that he holds a second place, and the Spirit of prophecy a third. For this they accuse us of madness, saying that we attribute to a crucified man a place second to the unchangeable and eternal God, the Creator of all things; but they are ignorant of the mystery which lies therein" (First Apology 13:5–6 [A.D. 151]).
Peace and blessings!

Why? What's so funny about the notion of One God, as opposed to the myriad of false pagan gods worship on down through the ages. Pretty much anything can constitute a false god, you know. Anything a person prioritizes above God, becomes a false god.
This is a hard sin not to commit, when you really think about it.

Yeah, I saw it. So what?

Have you not read the Book of the Prophet Isaiah?
(55:8-9) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
God's nature is simple. He "is". His very essense is to exist. He is the Way itself. He is Truth itself. He is Life itself.
Many aspects of Christianity are reasonable. As a matter of historical fact, the Ancient Greeks took to Christianity because of it's connection to both the Divine as well as human reason and logic. Perhaps, what you need is someone to explain Christianity to you strictly in terms of reason and logic.

Why should the nature of God be simple and compatible with basic human logic?
Just because we are simple creatures does not mean that God has to be.
The doctrine of the Holy Trinity states there is one true God who is made up of three separate but equal persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is shared by most Christian denominations including Roman and Orthodox Catholics, Lutherans, Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Pentecostals and Episcopalians.
How this works is not fully known and is one the Christian mysteries.
There is a story told about St Augustine:
Augustine was walking along the seashore trying to figure out the mystery of the Holy Trinity and came up to a little boy. The boy was trying to pour the ocean into a hole in the sand with a seashell. Augustine told the boy what he was doing was impossible. Then the little boy told Augustine that it is also impossible for the mind of man to try to understand the mystery of the Holy Trinity. The little boy turned into an angel and disappeared.
With love in Christ.

All the genuine christian denominations believe in the Trinity. Thats because if you believe in the New Testament and are honest, you have to believe in the Trinity. It doesn't mean 3 Gods - but God one in three persons. This seems foolish to the unbeliever, but actually our sins could only be forgiven as Christ as God was a worthy sacrifice for us. Also we know God personally through the Holy Spirit. It is clear from the New Testament that both are God. Also experientially it is pretty obvious the Holy Spirit is God; can a normal spirit be in multiple places concurrently, interacting with millions individually at the same time ?

No, if God is Eternal Love He has to be more than one person in one Being because since only God is eternal how could there be love if there is only one person? One person, even an Eternal and Infinite One, who just has himself to love would be just ego-centric,unable to give himself as a gift or to receive another as a gift. The god would also be unable to sacrifice Himself and do and be all the other essential requirements of Love. The god could not be creative or communicative until he created contingent creatures which means he could not really be noncontingent/dependent until he created rational creatures so he would not be all-powerful,perfect goodness and the like.
also, you are accurately insinuating that all Trinitarian Christians have Catholicism to thank for thr basics of their Faith

1 God consisting of 3 entities...
What is there to find funny ?
If anything I find myself in awe of the trinity. As I a human am incapable of understanding it, I merely accept it as fact.
In another time and place I may come to know the truth of it.
btw I am not Catholic.
