Im told most resumes are only glanced at for a few seconds and must catch a interviewers eye within that time. Is adding a little humor a good idea?

No - unless you're applying for a job a s a comedian! It's unprofessional and will not get you noticed (at least not in a positive way). Stick to the facts - your accomplishments, skills, and experiences. Make sure to highlight the impact or outcomes of your work ex. increased sales 10%.

Not really a good idea - their definition of humor might be different from yours.

You'll catch their eye by having a resume and cover letter that are neat and error-free, and education and/or experience that fits what they're looking for.
