This guy really states that he loves me. I know him since i was in High school. How can i be sure that he does mean that he loves me when we are separated by thousands of miles.

You must just treat this long distance relationship as a nice little bit of excitement, but don't take it too seriously. Yes he may say he loves you, and you can tell him that you love him too. But how can you express that love in anything but words when you are so far away from each other. Its not worth you keeping yourself from enjoying your life, including guys, and I would advise you to find another guy who can show you his love and have some real good times.

Trust is one of the most important foundation in building a good relationship. If you know him well enough, there is no reason why you should not trust him. Long distance relationship, can work, but it requires hard work on both part to make it work. Temptation is everywhere, everyday, can your relationship stand the test of time? What do you think?

depends on the guy. some are some are not. but shouldn't you know that since you knew him for about 4 years?I'm guessing your in college and you knew him since freshmen year. I mean is his personality trushworthy and depending on how much the you mean to the person and how much the person means to you is how you know. and long distance relationships are hard to begin with. but if your not ready to trust him then a long distance relationship is not for you and him.

i really wouldnt reccomend you get yourself into this situation. yes he most likely does love you, but long distant relationships never last for long. a lot of things get in the way, usually paranoia, worrying about the other possibly cheating etc. it depends if youre willing to have this relationship, carrying the risks with it. talk to him about your worries, and decide where you want to take it.

judge him on his actions, not what he say's, but it's also unfair to genralise guys the way you are.
